Savoring the Circus

Tuesday, August 19, 2014. I have a goal to try something new in our garden each year and this year the new thing was dried beans. We eat a lot of dried beans around here! The beans grew beautifully! I think they probably should have been supported (as in pole beans) but they were planted so thickly that they became woven together and held each other up for the most part. We began shelling them in an organized fashion. neat little piles of beans and neat piles of already opened pods. We ended up with a ga...

Savoring the Circus: March 2012

http://savoringthecircus1.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 15, 2012. Owl Pellets, Part 2. A while back I ordered owl pellets for the kids to dissect. It was kinda cool (and a little gross). However, what was really cool is that one of the boys found one in our woods yesterday and he recognized it immediately. It was way bigger than the ones we had bought. There was a lot of hair and one fairly big bone. We think it was from a rabbit. Monday, March 5, 2012. Here he is, our man Mr. C, all dressed up for his day at the state capitol with TeenPact.

Savoring the Circus: September 2011

http://savoringthecircus1.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 25, 2011. Way back when my big kids were little, we made these "Leaf Art" hangings. I had forgotten about them until a few days ago, when my kids started collecting and admiring leaves. It's an easy way to display their favorite ones and in my opinion, it looks very pretty. Your kids will be impressed. If you hang them on the window, the light shines through the paper and looks nice and fall-like. These are some pictures I took yesterday and had fun editing. Savoring the Circus: November 2011

http://savoringthecircus1.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 18, 2011. Queenie's got a loose tooth! The name Savoring the Circus is really taking on more meaning these days. I can't believe how fast my gang is growing. Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Mae has become a fixture around here. She's officially one of us. At night she trots from room to room, taking a nap in each. She snores, stretches, grunts like a large bear, and rolls over on her back to sleep some more. She pathetically lowers her head and then looks up at you with pitiful eyes.

savoringsweetness « A fine WordPress.com site

A fine WordPress.com site. I cannot change the world, and while there are times that I wish I could, I can’t help but think that there is likely someone who could change it more effectively than I could, or at least more efficiently. There are things that make me angry and unhappy in the world, things that make me wonder why some people insist on harming their fellows. This is my mission, my goal. I want to vent and rail against the world and then paint my own corner of sunshine.

Savoring the Day | Finding the extraordinary in an ordinary life

Finding the extraordinary in an ordinary life. July 10, 2012. Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
