The reason for the cancellation of the A2U-1 program was in a November 19, 1954 press release from Chance Vought Aircraft. In part it read: " Unavailability of suitable engines for an attack version of Chance Vought Aircraft's twin-jet Cutlass fighter has resulted in Navy cancellation of a order for 96 attack airplanes. Sunrise/Sunset and Nature Photography. I decided to separate my aviation interests from my nature photography, which gave rise to SunBits. This will be a space where I share my nature photos for your enjoyment! First up is the Capital Building in Washington, DC earlier this month. These shots came from a want to capture fall color on the National Mall. The unfortunate part was the lack of colorful leaves on the trees. I did eventually find the color as the sun set. In March 1955, Vought dedicated Facility 107 at the Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant Dallas. This was the beginning of the Low Speed Wind Tunnel facility for Vought.
