Tween Teaching: About Me
http://tweenteaching.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
I teach 6th grade science in a small town outside of Richmond, VA. I returned to teaching last year after many years away from the classroom. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Samford University in Birmingham, VA in 2004. After graduation, I taught 4th grade for one year and then spent 18 months living in Morocco and China. When I'm not teaching, I'm spending my days taking care of my 1 year old daughter Blakely and spending time with my husband. October 20, 2012 at 7:13 PM. October 21, 2012 at 6:09 PM.

Part of my problem is major lack of organization. But it's also really hard when you teach 100 kids. Hopefully, this sheet will help tremendously in the upcoming school year. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. I also picked up a few sheets of scrapbook paper for the background and then printed out my labels on my printer. It's so therapeut...

Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Finding Your Seat Idea. You will begin to see a little shift in my blog since I will no longer be teaching Science. My principal moved me to Math for this upcoming school year and I'm really excited. I'm sad to leave Science but excited for the new opportunities of teaching a different subject. Tween Teaching: September 2012

Saturday, September 22, 2012. Positive Affirmations for Students. This year, my teammates and I decided to start each class period with positive affirmations for the students. We want to encourage our students and build them up so they have an "I can" attitude rather than "I can't.". Each of us picked a few affirmations that we liked best. I have mine displayed on the front wall so the students can always see them. Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Using Finger Signs in the Classroom. One new idea that I.

http://lifewithmrse.blogspot.com/2014/11/examining-conflict-pyp-perspective.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. Examining Conflict a PYP Perspective. How We Express Ourselves. People use various forms of expression in times of conflict. An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, believes and values; the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity; our appreciation of the aesthetic. So how do you teach conflict and expression to children? How do you make it global and yet make it relevant to them so they can take action?
