Landscape: July 2012

Sunday, July 22, 2012. Assignment 5: The final set? It has been some time since I last took a serious look at these images. I have to admit I am suffering a little bit of a block on this assignment. It is not a problem of quality, it is a problem of choice and the image I want to portray. I think I have been too concerned with telling a story, I should leave that to Social Documentary! Landscape: Portfolio: Finalizing and Printing
http://sclarke-landscape.blogspot.com/2012/06/portfolio-finalizing-and-printing.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. Portfolio: Finalizing and Printing. After some insightful feedback from my tutor I have decided to swap out the spring set for a new one, abandoning the pink trees in favour of a slightly more muted evocation of the season at the Olympiagelande. I now have my final portfolio and spent the afternoon today printing them for assessment. In the other park, the Englischer Garten, location for my 4 identical shots of the seasons, I still struggle with the summer image, the fierce sun m...

Photography 2 - Social Documentary: So what did I learn?
http://sclarke-socdoc.blogspot.com/2014/09/so-what-did-i-learn.html
Saturday, September 20, 2014. So what did I learn? Putting aside the fact that the course is old and lacks the intellectual rigor I need at this stage, the subject matter was a real problem. I do not have a problem photographing people, with or without their consent, however, people increasingly have a problem with me photographing them. Not me specifically, anyone! Photography 1: Digital Photographic Practice. Open College of Arts Course Blog. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. This was a far more complex project than the last one, stretching my Photoshop skills to the limit and requiring some quality time with Martin Evening and "Adobe Photoshop CS4 for Photographers". The first and simplest challenge was to select and image that would work well in the context of the exercise:. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Assignment 4: First Thoughts. With this book cover I plan to do a simi...

Landscape: P42: man-made landscape
http://sclarke-landscape.blogspot.com/2012/08/p42-man-made-landscape.html
Saturday, August 4, 2012. Thus this project is an apt way to close my course work. As every photo I have taken thus far is of a man made space, rather than go out and find 3 man made landscapes, here are 3 photographs of man-made landscapes taken during the course that mean a lot to me. I think my recent photography is strongly trending towards being a series of Documentary studies, not Social Documentary as such, but linked studies of locations. I also feel that I am now evolving an own style or "vo...

Photography 1: People and Place: The Posters
http://sclarke-people-and-place.blogspot.com/2011/01/posters.html
Photography 1: People and Place. Open College of Arts Course Blog. Monday, January 24, 2011. The objective of assignment 5 was to create a set of photographs that could be incorporated into posters to advertise the Munich Ubahn system to foreign visitors to the city. I have to admit that I have taken rather a tongue in cheek approach and some of these would not really work that well to attract people, perhaps to amuse? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
