Kate and Scott in Asia

Kate and Scott in Asia. Were off on our jollies for 16 weeks, keep in touch! Saturday, 9 July 2011. So here we are, at the end of one very quick week in Cambodia. During our last post we were approximately halfway down the coast of Vietnam, and what a beautiful coast it is! So in summary we have had an incredible couple of weeks. We have had more to think about and learn about the sometimes really saddening history of the countries than at any point on our trip. Without doubt though, Vietnam and ...So I ...

Kate and Scott in Asia: June 2011

http://www.scottyandkate.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Kate and Scott in Asia. Were off on our jollies for 16 weeks, keep in touch! Saturday, 18 June 2011. I'm sweating as I'm writing this. So I feel like we are not as good as posting as I would have suggested before I set off. Alas Hong Kong was our last blog and already we have travelled through Thailand, Laos and into Vietnam, doing so much that inevitably most of it will be missed off from this blog, but i'll try to provide a rounded summary of the best bits. Faced with a three day bus journey into the n...

Kate and Scott in Asia. Were off on our jollies for 16 weeks, keep in touch! Tuesday, 26 April 2011. Sounds more like a rat! Were off to Hangzhou in the morning tomorrow after our final farewell meal at Xiabu. We have 2 days there before our trek up the mountain begins so a serious amount of rest and relaxation are in order. Straight after this we are going for a 2 pound foot rub, whoop! Love to everyone at home,. Kate and Scott xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Thursday, 21 April 2011.

Kate and Scott in Asia. Were off on our jollies for 16 weeks, keep in touch! Tuesday, 24 May 2011. 4 weeks in 1 post. Tunxi (Including Huangshan Mountain). Lijiang (Including Tiger Leaping Gorge). Where to start with the highlights. We've also been to the beach and had some yummy cocktails, which after barely drinking in China didn't take long to make us feel a bit giddy. Tomorrow we are flying to Bangkok to begin our Thailand leg of the trip, something we are very excited about. We promise to be...

A Final Farewell | Tianjin Tales

https://tianjintales.wordpress.com/2011/06/23/a-final-farewell

The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. While my tales of Tianjin over the past ten months have touched on travel, teaching and trying to navigate daily life in the Middle Kingdom, there were always things I felt I should steer clear of. In fact, we were told frankly at the start of our year to avoid all mention of politics and religion, and never to talk about the Three Ts : Taiwan, Tibet and Tiananmen. The second topic was unavoidable in my second semester of teaching, as I was given a new class o...

Art Attack | Tianjin Tales

https://tianjintales.wordpress.com/2011/05/27/art-attack

The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. Chinese paper cutting is an art form you see everywhere during festivals and holidays. When I returned from Spring Festival, the windows of nearly all the apartments in my block were adorned with red paper-cut hangings. Now I’m the owner of my own version, hand-made and gifted by a fellow teacher:. What a nice reminder of my year (of the Rabbit) in China! Stories from the Seaside. 再见中国 – Goodbye China! The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. Stories from the Seaside. I’ve already declared my love for the Paris of the East, but there is just enough travel love left over for what is sometimes known as China’s Switzerland. Qingdao – a city of more than two million people that manages to feel like a small, easy breezy seaside town was the location for a recent long weekend with some friends. A Night at the Opera. A Night at the Opera | Tianjin Tales

https://tianjintales.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/a-night-at-the-opera

The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. A Night at the Opera. This year’s May Day weekend was memorable for many reasons. While the rest of the world were watching weddings and breaking news headlines, my friends and I were in Beijing, taking in not tiaras, but the famous Beijing Opera. I didn’t realise it was you! Why didn’t you say so? Let’s go to the back of the inn and have a nice conversation. Then the opera part of Beijing opera began. A delicately dressed woman dancing with ribbons appear...

The Charms of Chinglish | Tianjin Tales

https://tianjintales.wordpress.com/2011/05/05/the-charms-of-chinglish

The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. The Charms of Chinglish. After almost 9 months in China, there is still one thing that gets me every time: the accidental language merger known as “Chinglish”. Whether the new vocabulary ellicits a smile, a snigger or downright confusion, you can’t fail to notice it. Here are a few more gems I’ve found since January…. Because the railings are just as important as the relics, you know. Sounds scarily similar to that for ‘death’ (. Here you have it, my personal,...

再见中国 – Goodbye China! | Tianjin Tales

https://tianjintales.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/再见中国-goodbye-china

The Asian Adventures of a Scottish Islander. 再见中国 – Goodbye China! As I write this I am sitting at the British Airways departure gate in Beijing Capital Airport, an hour away from leaving China. Sometimes a few days in China feels like a lifetime, but the past few weeks have disappeared so fast that they barely registered. A Final Farewell →. One Response to “再见中国 – Goodbye China! The Scott Family

Wednesday, June 27, 2012. If I could describe camping in three words it would be SO MUCH FUN! Scotty and I both grew up camping and I have always wanted Taylor and Emma to be able to experience it. I'm not a tent in the woods kind of girl so when we found the camper we wanted(with all the bells and whistles) we were sold! It could not be more perfect for us and we were so excited to go on our first trip to Hardridge Creek at Lake Eufaula. Cooking on the grill! Ready, Set, Go! Camping on the Gulf! I remem...

Saturday, April 17, 2010. A Bit At A Time! In the fall of every year we head up to Flagstaff and ride the ski. Lift to enjoy the fall colors. We brought Daisy as a special little date with just her and she loved it! Is that a happy girl or what? Daisy's name is so perfect for her. She is such a happy little flower! She skips and sings all the time and has a contagious laugh! Love, love , love this man. Scott thrives on family fun and I'm so lucky to have a husband who truly values family like he does.

Monday, November 10, 2014. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the fall color and weather. We were able to go to a small pumpkin patch with MacKenzie and Eden. They loved it and between Kenzie and me, we got lots of cute pictures. Chloe is always excited to go see "my Kenz" and her cousin Eden! And Eden loves calling out "Chloe! This is Reagan at her 2 month appointment). We got to celebrate Scotty's birthday! Posted by Scott and Kaylee Jones. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Coal Mine Ward Relief Society.
