McDonald Jones - Beach House at Stonecutters Ridge. Thursday, March 24, 2011. Painters finished in a week. Paintwork was terrible and we had to ask Bill McDonald to make them do it properly. All the doors needed to be sanded back and repainted with a brush finish - they originally had the orange peel effect as the painters only used a roller. The brick cleaners did turn up on Sunday and did 2 hours spot cleaning only. The whole house needs to be done so they have to come back again. McDonald Jones - Beach House at Stonecutters Ridge. Friday, January 21, 2011. The tilers turned up on Thursday and did all the bathroom and laundry floors. On Friday we were asked to check the colour was correct and how we wanted them laid. The tiles started on Saturday but by Tuesday they had run out of tiles. Someone underestimated the amount needed and they left to go to another job until the extra tiles could be delivered. Just what we need - another stuff up and delay. Our Backyard - 7th Green.

Sunday, 19 September 2010. Our second last piece of hardscaping was completed yesterday - our south side passage. We decided on a decomposed granite (DG) path. It's a fairly straight forward project - except for moving the amount of raw materials required! We used a string line and level to determine the final height of the DG - on the house was easy - the level was the unpainted top of the slab. The fence line was more diffcult - I used a marker to measure on the fence. Dropped by for moral support!

Saturday, 13 November 2010. We've been in Melbourne and Tassie for the last 2.5 weeks and during that time, I figured I'd just leave my garden to nature - no irrigation lines set up - just whatever fell from the sky. I left a small zuchinni plant and came home to this. And these huge zuchinnis! I think the larger ones are called marrows. Anyone know what I can do with these huge things besides zuchinni quiche, slice and bread? We also had a visitor at our front door welcoming us home! All About The Build.

Maintenance still not finished…. Final occupancy certificate, pools and puppies! An update on the pool. July 10, 2012. There isn’t one. Hint: apparently timber decking must be 900mm off the boundary fences. There goes that idea of a nice timber feature at the end of the pool… If only the council websites had more detailed information, life would be so much easier!
