Red has been the standard color for the iconic U.K. mailboxes — known as pillar boxes — since 1874, but a number have now been turned gold in honour of all Team GB Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists as a way to help residents of their home towns to celebrate the historic victories. My window to the wider world. Wednesday, 19 September 2012. US parcel post · 50 cents. This was a 50 cents old stamp from the USA featuring a dairy farm. It came from Wisconsin and was sent by a Postcrosser who is on 10 top senders from this country (which, in my opinion, given the large number of users, is quite impressive). Legends of Baseball 2000 (top) and birds (bottom). On the flip side, these amazing sets of stamps: Legends of Baseball. Issued in 2000 on the top ( Eddie Collins. I feel lucky today.

Swaddling Science in the Written Word. Monday, November 06, 2006. The colors of fall. The leaves are falling off the trees pretty quickly here in New England, but only after putting on a fantastic color display this year. I haven't seen blazing foliage like that in a while. But where do those colors come from? What causes that fiery display? In nature, you often find that brilliant colors are a signal for danger or distress.
