Learning Every Minute: January 2011
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, January 24, 2011. From a RealHaus post this past December…. Which leaves me pondering: Where is the happy place between teaching our children to question authority and not bend to every whim and blindly jump through every hoop they are told to, and learning the skills and ability to adapt to the “real world” (as though they don’t already live in the real world if they school at home, but I digress)? Did I meet their individual needs? Is ther...

Learning Every Minute: March 2010
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, March 15, 2010. Labels Me No Likey. Once again (for like the fifth time, at least). I have arrived in virtually the same place I have arrived at each and every time I have delved into the big, wide, not-so-welcoming world of "unschooling":. I seriously do. Just a few observations, in bullet-form since they are somewhat topical in nature. In parenting, as in every other area of life, my philosophy is that it's all about relationship. My c...

Learning Every Minute: September 2010
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Thursday, September 16, 2010. How the Yo-Yo Was Invented. I obviously haven't updated since the beginning of the summer, and there have been changes. Crazy, I know, but yes, there have been changes. Homeschooling is going very well for both Rosie and Matt, other than the fact that they both barely tolerate math. I guess it goes without saying that neither of them shares their eldest brother's love for the subject. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Learning Every Minute: Okay, Maybe Not a Yo-Yo, but More Like a Roller Coaster
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010/10/okay-maybe-not-yo-yo-but-more-like.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, October 4, 2010. Okay, Maybe Not a Yo-Yo, but More Like a Roller Coaster. Our family educational adventure could be viewed as a microcosm of life in many ways. Actually, after having homeschooled my children for 22 years, it has been. We heard last week that there is still a good chance Matt will soon be hired at the museum. We picked up his khakis over the weekend, and he is eager to get started. Learning Every Minute: Talks
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2011/01/talks.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Monday, January 24, 2011. My daughter and I have been talking a lot lately. Not that it’s anything unusual for us to talk, but it’s been a little bit easier now that I’m not so crazy busy all the time. This is actually what I envisioned (hoped for) when I backed off my other commitments to turn my focus more directly on her and her brother and less on people outside our family. Learning Every Minute: December 2010
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Visualizing the End of an Era. Earlier today a friend posted on her Facebook "I LOVE HOMESCHOOLING! And the dam broke. I responded with, "What do you do when your child no longer loves it? Us veterans don't have it all together even after doing this for 22 years. Don't ever feel badly because you haven't been doing it long enough to know everything; it will always be a learning process. After all, as we homeschool...

Learning Every Minute: May 2010
http://learningeveryminute.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Wording our family learning adventures as we live them. Thursday, May 6, 2010. If this family is one thing, it's flexible. I've always loved the adage, "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape." Hopefully the flexibility we've had no choice but to maintain over the years means that our family has a significantly lesser chance of being bent out of shape. Sometimes it feels a bit like bungee-jumping. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Deep Blue Sea. Write, Pray, Love.
