http://allthingstaylor-scott.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 11 December 2012. How Adrian Holloway will end his talk on Sunday, so you are ready! I’ve just spoken to Adrian Holloway, our preacher for the Carol Concerts. He told me stories of three of the carol concerts he has been at. He saw 88 responses at Birmingham Uni, 83 at Norwich Uni, and 86 at a church in Bristol. He is in Reading on Sunday and I am excited to see what God will do as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with our family and friends. These are exciting days for RFC in so many ways, but l...

Thursday, 28 November 2013. Attitudes of a Leader # 4. Week four of this 5 week series taken from a talk given at the RFC Leadership Summit.). 4: Eager to listen. As a guy with a reasonably strong leadership gift and the experience I have this is something that I am constantly working on. Actually you just want help to process an issue or just want to be listened to. To know when to speak and when to be silent. To feedback reflectively when someone is speaking to me. Links to this post. Week three of thi...

Thoughts on Life in Kerith Community Church. Friday, June 19, 2015. After the spiritual feast of REAL for our women on Friday evening and all day Saturday we've got Father's Day on Sunday. In the morning Paul Reid will be speaking at all three meetings. He's got a great message on how the generations can work together and be a blessing to one another, which I know is gong to resonate with all of us. Hope to see you there both morning and evening :). Simon Benham's Blog: Kerith Kids Encouragement
http://www.simonbenham.com/2015/06/kerith-kids-encouragement.html
Thoughts on Life in Kerith Community Church. Thursday, June 18, 2015. Steve Benton is one of the amazing volunteer leaders in Kerith Kids, our Sunday children's ministry. He wrote to me recently about some of what the children had been doing on a Sunday, which I thought you'd all be inspired to read below. You'll also be excited to know that in just the last two weeks 11 children have prayed what we call the ABC prayer, a prayer of first time commitment. Praise God. Many children experienced God's love a...

Simon Benham's Blog: Sparklers 25th Anniversary
http://www.simonbenham.com/2015/06/sparklers-25th-anniversary.html
Thoughts on Life in Kerith Community Church. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Our parent and toddler group, will have been running for an amazing 25 years. In that time it's had a huge impact with hundreds of families having enjoyed the high quality, fun, relaxed environment the team creates every week. From day one it's always been centred around creating a safe place for people to hear about Jesus, and many people have come to know Christ as a result of attending Sparklers. So exciting. I promise this is not Simon infringing the strict "no blogging" rules of his sabbatical ;-) We're into the 8th week, by the way - the summer is going fast! Working as part of th...

Mining for Jems: July 2012
http://miningforjems.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Opening my window on the world. Friday, 27 July 2012. It's a tradition in our family for me and Andy to make the children the biggest, chocolatiest (is that a word? Most outrageous cakes for their birthdays. We figure, hey, you have one birthday a year, you're only a child for a short time, so what the heck - when it comes to birthday cakes - it has to be a whopper. Friday, July 27, 2012. Monday, 23 July 2012. Still, Andy's home with the kids this week so I'm hoping they make the most of the sun. Our hou...

Ed Goode - Delighted: The fall of Rome
http://edsfalliblethoughts.blogspot.com/2009/05/fall-of-rome.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The fall of Rome. Very excellent book 'how should we then live? Traces the development and decline of western thought from the Roman Empire to now. It's great, instructive, helpful and not always encouraging. Towards the end he quotes from Edward Gibbon's decline and fall of the Roman Empire, about the five steps that marked the end of the empire. 1) An increasing love of show and luxury. 3) An obsession with sex. Pretending to be creativity. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Ed Goode - Delighted: July 2009

Tuesday, July 07, 2009. Instead the righteous, loving Father humbled Himself to become in and through His only Son, flesh, sin and a curse for us, in order to redeem us without compromising His own character. The theological words 'satisfaction' and 'substitution' need to be carefully defined and safeguarded, but they can not, under any circumstances by given up. The Biblical Gospel of atonement is of God satisfying Himself by substituting Himself for us. John Stott, The Cross Of Christ, Pp 159-160.
