Because Peer pressure works! Saturday, June 20, 2009. Working on the doco. That's why things are quiet on the script front. Hoping to get back to the script once I'm up to speed and things ticking over with the doco. Which maybe will be a couple of weeks. Hard to say. Busy busy. Posted by the daily screenwriter. Because Peer pressure works! Sunday, November 30, 2008. Drafting day 11. Page 42. Day 52 since starting this project. Page 42. Total days writing: 26. Days not writing: 26. Okay, I was going to have the day off, but couldn't help doing a bit more. Not that he seems to sweat. Now there's a role model to aspire to. Could I be screenwriting's Clint Eastwood? All effortless cool and inscrutable gaze? Posted by the daily screenwriter. Saturday, November 29, 2008. Drafting day ten, page 38. Days not writing: 26.

By the way, though I'm at page 80, that doesn't mean I'm near finished - looks like this draft is going to run very long )(which I actually see as a good thing - lots more freedom to cut). The daily screenwriter: May 2009
http://thedailyscreenwriter.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Because Peer pressure works! Wednesday, May 20, 2009. I didn't write today but I consider my writing karma good as I spent two hours sorting out the mess my writing space had become. like an archaeologist I dug through three layers of projects/notes, brushed and labelled them, so to speak. I think a certain level of mess is inevitable with writing but things had really got out of hand. Am going to work on containing the mess rather than letting it breed, from now on. Shh Be Quiet Can't You See I Am Trying To Read: February Reading / The Sick Thrill of Bad Writing
http://bookplow.blogspot.com/2011/02/february-reading-sick-thrill-of-bad.html
Wednesday, February 16, 2011. February Reading / The Sick Thrill of Bad Writing. OK first things first. Billy has asked for a picture of the skull mug, and I have finally found my digital camera cable, so here goes. As you can infer from the picture, I've fallen into my usual trap of reading several books at once. That's not even all of them. I'm 50 pages into a novel called The Graphologist's Apprentice. Partially this is the phenomenon of the throw-away book. The Remains of the Day. I know that Silverb...

Shh Be Quiet Can't You See I Am Trying To Read: ELLA MINNOW PEA, by Mark Dunn
http://bookplow.blogspot.com/2011/01/ella-minnow-pea-by-mark-dunn.html
Wednesday, January 19, 2011. ELLA MINNOW PEA, by Mark Dunn. So it’s thanks to the White Queen that I ended up reading one last week – around four months after she lent it to me. So, strangely, this one turned out to be quite a good book. It’s nothing earth shattering, but it is quite short, and would take most people less than 3-4 hours to read. It’s a rewarding way to spend less than 3-4 hours of your time. The Dancers at the End of Time. Lent by a friend. January 19, 2011 at 4:35 PM. Check out these ot...

Shh Be Quiet Can't You See I Am Trying To Read: January 2010
http://bookplow.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 23, 2010. This year’s resolution is to read 40 books, with an emphasis on raising the bar in terms of quality. I don’t know if you’re like this too, maybe you are, but I’m easily tempted into reading things which I know will be easy going. My job tires me out, and the fact that I’m even reading at all feels like enough of an accomplishment sometimes, so I read some fairly throw-away stuff. There are all sorts of categories of throw-away books:. Books written for children or teenagers.

Shh Be Quiet Can't You See I Am Trying To Read: PRETTY MONSTERS, by Kelly Link
http://bookplow.blogspot.com/2011/03/pretty-monsters-by-kelly-link.html
Friday, March 11, 2011. PRETTY MONSTERS, by Kelly Link. So far 2011 has been a good year for reading. Better than average. I've been reading more than average, and the quality of the books has turned out to be fairly high. For the past month and a half I've been working from home, trying to get a lot of things accomplished – too many things - and the way it happens is when you try to accomplish too many things, you don't accomplish too many things. Not like a bad rock star – not the sort of rock st...
