Every morning during nesting season we have volunteers who patrol both beaches looking for turtle tracks in the sand. When one is found we verify that there are eggs. In the nest and cover it with protective netting and stakes. When it has been the proper length of time and the nest is "ready" we dig a trench from nest to water. How to become a volunteer. The Sea Turtle Recovery (STR) is dedicated to the rehabilitation, preservation and conservation of sea turtles. STR’s goal is to rehabilitate sick or injured sea turtles for their release back to the wild.
