Westfield Sportscars

This is a picture of my car, a 1998 Westfield Seight. So called because it is built in the tradition of the Lotus Seven, compact, spartan, but superb in handling and cornering ability, giving true driver satisfaction. However, the bit that makes it different from all those other Sevenesque cars is the 3.9 litre Rover V8 engine. My other toy is my 1968 Cooper S - see more about this on my Mini page. Tuning

The Westfield Seight in its standard trim gives pretty good performance with very impressive 0-60 mph times. However, for me part of the fun of owning a car such as this is thinking of ways to make it better. it is without doubt good already. This is the spec sheet from the Westfield factory. 2, 3 way catalyst. 200 bhp @ 4750 rpm. 3188 Nm @ 2600 rpm. Rover R380 5 speed. Speed per 1000 rpm. 2545 mph (3.38 diff). Disc brakes all round. 7 x 15 Alloy. 205 x 50 x 15. To date, these include modified air filter.

Crunch!

A bit of a mishap with a crash barrier in France caused some damage to the car! After three spins on a French motorway, the car was not looking very good. A quick chat with my insurance company and the most viable way forward was to start again. The rear of the car, including the only wheel still attached!

Just a few photos of the latest creation. Following the demise of the orange car in a freak accident in the French countryside, I decided to start again with a new kit from Westfield. This new car is hopefully going to be a bit lighter than the old one and with a 5.1 litre engine, it shouldn't come up short in the horse power front.

Mini - Italian Job. This one has been two years in the making. When I bought the car, I had ideas of using it as a run-around on wet days, the Westfield is not ideal for this!
