Game day: fordprfct
http://fordprfct.livejournal.com/2594.html
And I are hosting a game day, a week from this coming Saturday. Made available, and I will likely be subjected to singing. Please don't feel obligated to bring gifts. Having friends over and playing games is quite a treat in and of itself. If you plan on coming over for some gaming, or have questions, please leave a comment. We aren't going to be strict about RSVP'ing, but it does simplify the logistics to have a rough headcount beforehand. Post a new comment. We will log you in after post.

WorldCon, DragonCon, the Hugos, and what not - Musing and Rambling

Thoughts of a David pondering life. WorldCon, DragonCon, the Hugos, and what not. Sep 4th, 2013 at 11:26 AM. The last time we attended WordlCon in 97 I remember it being huge with lots of people everywhere and tons going on. I didnt get that impression this time. In a way that was quite nice. It seemed more private and comfy. I was much less worried about my kids (7 and 13) at the crowd levels and I ran into a number of poeple that I knew. As for the panels.I went to a few. Speak I hadnt seen her in ages.

Whose deficit is it anyway? - Musing and Rambling

Thoughts of a David pondering life. Whose deficit is it anyway? Aug 15th, 2012 at 12:48 PM. To realize that this is often a losing proposition. Still, I felt that I had toyes I do resemble Don Quixote at times. So, let’s go to the tale of the tape. First stop the wonderful website www.usgovermentspending.com. Which has amazing historical data on US spending going way back. For my purposes I went back to FY1946 through FY2013 (both FY2012 and FY2013 are estimated). 160; Should be blame the Congress?

In loyalty to our kind - Feral Memes

In loyalty to our kind. Dec 24th, 2014 at 9:58 AM. In the early 1960s I read John Wyndhams The Chrysalids. A 1955 science fiction novel set in a post-apocalyptic rural Labrador with a warmer climate. Presumably in the wake of nuclear war, the culture is one of genetic fundamentalism, desperately holding the line against the mutated animals - and children - that keep popping up. Not surprisingly, the author of The Midwich Cuckoos. Filmed as Village of the Damned. Beresfords The Hampdenshire Wonder,. Lots o...

Better is Beer, if drink we lack, And Water Hot poured down the back-! Apr 18th, 2015 at 6:37 PM. If you've ever been called names, spat on, tripped, and kicked for months; then turned around and punched one of your attackers in the face, only to watch as you're punished and they all get off scot-free:. You're part of my tribe. You're part of my tribe. If you've been a social outcast, who threw a shoe at your best (and only) friend because she tried to join in the group tormenting the new Untouchable:.

Chair Force Engineer: April 2006
http://chairforceengineer.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 25, 2006. According to a recent piece in. NASA has not only committed to the RS-68 for its Cargo Launch Vehicle (CaLV,) but it has solved the problem of maintaining the same throw weight in spite of reductions in specific impulse. Specifically, the CaLV has grown in girth from 8.38 meters (diameter of the shuttle external tank,) to 10 meters (diameter of the Saturn V.). Von Braun would be proud. While duplicating the triumphs of the past is a nostaligic and maudlin throwback, it isn't nece...

Chair Force Engineer: June 2005
http://chairforceengineer.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 23, 2005. The important thing is that my introductory acquisition training is over. It's a little bit disappointing that I did not make the top ten percent. I think I essentially kissed that goodbye on the first morning when I fell asleep during the Colonel's lecture. I got to meet some good folks, spent time with some familiar ones, and maybe I learned a thing or two. The most important thing now is to get back to Kirtland, readjust to my new life, and find me an office to work in. The fu...

Chair Force Engineer: October 2005
http://chairforceengineer.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 27, 2005. I got to tour the SpaceX facilities in El Segundo and talk to some representatives of the company. In case you're wondering, I couldn't take any pictures. SpaceX has six buildings in the El Segundo area; I got to see four of them. None of them seemed very big, like what you'd expect from a plant where EELV-class rockets are built. The company had some hardware on display and I found it all to be very interesting. Posted by Mr. X at 6:24 PM. Monday, October 24, 2005. From May 2...
