A Year In Socks. Thursday, September 4, 2008. July challenge - check! I guess I could have cheated and re-purposed May's hand-dyed socks for the July challenge but . . . I'm always up for a challenge. Since I'd already made 3 pairs of socks from the 3 hanks of yarn I hand dyed at Shepherd's Harvest '07, I only had dribs. And drabs left. So rather than dye more yarn, I decided to use what I had left to make some crazy striped socks. To further challenge myself, I decided to learn how to do a jogless.

A Year In Socks. Thursday, July 31, 2008. Ok peeps. I’ve been out of town, exploring part of my family’s heritage in Iceland. (Dang - there are a lot of knitters there). So your challenge this August is to find/create a sock pattern and choose some yarn and tie all this together in a way that represents your heritage. A Year In Socks. Friday, August 15, 2008. Day late and a pair of socks short. I've finally got something to show this summer. These are my May installment in the year of socks. These will be sent to Rani to be included in the charity package she's putting together. They are the Slouch Sock pattern from Socks, Socks, Socks. Of course, I had to tweak the pattern to make them toe-up but that's just how I roll. They are made from yarn I dyed myself a couple years back at Shepherd's Harvest. Us 1 or 2 maybe.
