Winds of Change: October 2013
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 12, 2013. The Creator made us so. Who of us doesn’t appreciate beauty – whether it is caught in salty, crashing waves on the sandy ocean shore, appreciated in the stillness of the mossy forest haven, traced in the flight of the wild, lofty eagle, or seen tucked in the soft, velvet petals of the deep-colored rose. He has made all things beautiful. 8220;Wait, just one more house- ” Amy gestured to one last building on an assigned street. Let’s get out of here,. 8221; she played with a blo...

Winds of Change: Healer of The Heart
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2014/06/healer-of-heart.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Healer of The Heart. The two story farmhouse with faded paint breathes of memories and history from the old New England days, situated at the top of a winding driveway where cell phone service is nonexistent. Beyond stands a barn no longer standing and a weary lawn beginning to flair with green. The woman looks up after placing a finger to her lips and glancing down at the tousled mop of hair. “She’s in her bedroom.”. Beginning to realize that in my 20. Year of life I have barel...

Winds of Change: The North Meets the South (part 1)
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-north-meets-south-part-1.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2014. The North Meets the South (part 1). Although I'm sure many of read this story on another website, I've thought to include it written among my journey recorded here. It has been a long road of lessons learned - both of wisdom and trust. But I thank God for every milestone passed, every step of faith made, and every blessing He has granted me both through sorrow and joy. He is the Author of dreams come true. It began before they met. Suzanne Cosgrove had recently caught up wit...

Winds of Change: The North Meets the South - part 2
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-north-meets-south-part-2.html
Monday, December 1, 2014. The North Meets the South - part 2. Christopher reclined on the living room couch after a full day working at a manufacturing plant. He wondered how much longer he would have his job. Refusing to work on the Sabbath, he continued to call in on the weeks when employees were expected to work Saturdays, fully aware that one day he would call in one time too many and be laid off. Picking up his cell phone, he sent a text to his girlfriend. "What's up? 8220;Hello,” he returned ...

Winds of Change: June 2015
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. I live in a land where light and darkness clash and collide like the flashes and rumbling of a mighty thunderstorm. Where both the bitter and the free, the hurting and the happy, live together under the sun’s intense heat and sky’s dark clouds. Magnificent magnolias sprawl over grass yards that often grow course and yellow in the intensely humid summer, and then brown again when winter sends bone-chilling breezes. And one day, I found that defiant to my surroundings, there could be...

Wednesday, October 6, 2010. I am not dating until I'm at least eighteen.". He crossed his arms. "So how are you going to know how to date then? Now is the time to cultivate good friendships," I looked him straight in the eye, "and when the time comes I will know what I want. I don't need to "practice" dating.". Some dating couples looked somewhat innocent. A friendly elementary student looked up at my face, "I have a BF! He's in the locker right now.". I'm going to re-read "I Kissed Dating Good-bye" agai...

Winds of Change: November 2013
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 11, 2013. We travel across the interstate at 63 miles per hour through the darkest of nights. Siblings slumber in the backseat, and parents talk quietly in the front as the miles slip by. The moon is shaded by swiftly moving clouds, but I can still see the smiles and hear laughter from a day blessed by what I believe was the very touch of heaven. Thanksgiving wells up from 19 years full of blessings. So often I take my heartbeat for granted. I assume that tomorrow will always come, t...

Winds of Change: I Choose the Fire
http://thewinds-ofchange.blogspot.com/2013/12/i-choose-fire.html
Wednesday, December 4, 2013. I Choose the Fire. 8220;…it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.”. Bundled up with coat and scarf, I cross my arms and brace myself against bitter winds that sting my face and whistle through bare tree tops. Steadying my feet as I amble across icy snow, I walk a familiar pathway. It is Thanksgiving Day, and it feels like full-blown winter. But I’m not thinking of the cold – I’m thinking about fire. Why is the offering made by fire?
