Sewing By *******

Wednesday, August 19, 2015. It is a beautiful sunny day here in the PNW! I've had three cups of coffee (it's only 10 AM) and I'm ready to go! Have I gotten a ton of sewing done lately? I did, however, scrap my idea for all the flowers in the window frame. And I think I have come up with something better. Don't worry: I didn't toss the flowers- -they will be used for another project; I can't let all that work just go to waste. What are you doing today? And there are lots of ideas there to inspire you!

Sewing By Lottery: The List

http://sewingbylottery.blogspot.com/p/the-list.html

I thought I would put the entire list of what I have in front of me here in the event my jar of small pieces of paper is destroyed! As of January 2015, I have re-tooled The List. First I have all the projects that as of January 1, 2015 I have started but have not completed. I will use my lottery system to first complete all of those projects. I created a new page so you can see all of my completed projects, with pictures and links, on a separate page entitled, Finished Projects. Christmas Stocking for Son.

Sewing By Lottery: September 2014

http://sewingbylottery.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 26, 2014. A New Adventure for Everyone! I had an idea the other day. I really enjoy crossing things off my crafting to-do list. Even though I am just cross stitching all of these old projects, it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to finish something; whether it is a project that has been on my back burner for weeks, months, or (let's face it) years, completing something always feels good. Maybe it's that quilt you started a decade ago. You are going to finish it. Finish that projec...

Sewing By Lottery: 2015 Goal: Focus

http://sewingbylottery.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-goal-focus.html

Thursday, January 1, 2015. Happy New Year Friends! 2014 was a great year and I'm looking forward to 2015. Even though I kind of like resolutions, I'm not going to make any big ones for the blog this year. I am, however, going to to rely on just one word to help keep me on track. My word for the blog this year is Focus. The first thing I am going to focus on is I have re-tooled The List. What does this mean for the blog? I can't wait to see what we all craft together! I am totally not at all worried about...

Sewing By Lottery: October 2014

http://sewingbylottery.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 31, 2014. Man, it has been busy these last few days! Packing, finishing costumes, Halloween parties, field trips to pumpkin patches. This whole week has flown by but I haven't forgotten about all of you! First, we had a couple of entries for October's CraftBusters Project. Edith sent in a purple trivet she made for a friend and Robin finished a Christmas stocking! They are both great. I used a random number generator and the winner is Edith! You win a $25 gift certificate to JoAnns. But-I...

Sewing By Lottery: Thoughts on my 2015 Goals at Six Months

http://sewingbylottery.blogspot.com/2015/06/thoughts-on-my-2015-goals-at-six-months.html

Thursday, June 18, 2015. Thoughts on my 2015 Goals at Six Months. Back in January I wrote. However, somewhere along the line my thought process became "I couldn't work on anything. So I forged ahead and made some small mistakes I might have caught if I had taken a day or two or a week off just to re-focus my energies and come back to the quilting with a fresh eye. That would have been ridiculous! Or even the Star Wars blanket I made for my son for his birthday (admittedly, it only took an hour)? Honestly...

Easy Homemade Granola Bars | Carpé Season

Carpé Season" rel="home" Carpé Season. Living seasonally in an underseasoned world. Easy Homemade Granola Bars. January 16, 2013. Let’s be real here for a second. Granola bars are the breakfast of “I stayed up too late last night watching. Reruns and overslept, and now I am grabbing a granola bar and stuffing it in my coat pocket to eat on my way to work…and later because I did not eat enough for breakfast, I will probably fish out the pocket crumbs and eat them too.”. Lifeone dash at a time. You are here: Home. May 30, 2014. This Fresh Strawberry Cake. Features loads of ripe berries and a light whipped cream frosting…making it the perfect summer dessert! Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten was cooked in a parking lot. I kid you not. After college, I moved down to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and holy cow do they know how to cook down there on the bayou! I was in Cajun food heaven! What do I miss the most about southern Louisiana? But I’d have to say that the food i...

Handmade. Homegrown. Heartfelt. The Woman Behind the Blog. To The Point: A Quick n’ Easy Jelly Quilt Tutorial. December 15, 2014. Today I want to share about a couple of fun baby quilt gifts I stitched up this month. Just 1 jelly roll and a couple of yards of white gave me 2 nice sized quilts- each 51″ square! So let’s get down to brass tax! To make 2 of these quilts (or a larger throw size), you’ll need:. Now, trim off the selvage edges from one end of the strip set. NOTE: Keep in mind that when you ali...

BLACKBERRY PIE BARS – Wit & Vinegar

http://witandvinegar.com/2013/05/blackberry-pie-bars.html

Am I the only one that doesn’t really care for fruit pie (apple excluded, obvs)? So much mushy filling, so little crust. When I was a kid I would usually eat the crust and leave the berries. And ask for extra ice cream. I was a lemon meringue kind of kid. Now, I know what you’re thinking: Billy you just gave me blackberry fruit pie bars. Get your shit together. When I first saw these. On Smitten Kitchen I was like what? Hot damn am I happy about that. I said I don’t want to talk about it. But I warn you:...

Sewing by Moonlight | Fabric and thread when the kids are in bed

March 12, 2015. That was an unexpected long blogging break. I blame Instagram. It’s just so easy to instantly share over there that blogging seems like a huge effort in comparison. If you are on Instagram, you can find me @moonlightsewing. My feed is over there on the side bar. I thought I would post a few Insta-highlights from my blog break and hope this is a jumping off point for more frequent updates. My Journey Through Sewing. Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Well, look at me. Two posts in 3 days. What? True to my personality, I of course jumped at the opportunity and completely ignoring that I, in fact, have never. made. a tutu.ever. So what is a motivated girl who loves ballet and a good challenge to do? Fake it 'till you make it. Here goes. The bodice is made of Bengaline, a cotton/rayon blend material...
