Archive for category: Bees. Be Free Bees: addition for Ann. November 6, 2014. I found this in the depths and wanted to share it. It has been YEARS since I have done this project. Really, years. It was a “free form” quilt bee called Around the Bend and Across the Pond and started through the Old Red Barn Co. I added a section to the bottom with an assortment of wonky stars in various sizes and colors. December 20, 2013. For the most recent round of the 4×5 Modern Quilt Bee. Because the pieces still needed...

Spider web block tutorial. Spider web block tutorial. November 14, 2012. Have you seen Heather’s excellent spider web quilt block tutorial from House of a la Mode. She uses a fabric foundation to create the block, which finishes at 12″ square. This tutorial is great if you’re going to make an entire project from her tutorial. Here is how you can make a template for your block centers and for trimming the quarters of the block, and finished 12.5 inch spider web quilt block. In one of the quarters, mark th...

Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Big Summer Trip: Lake Anna State Park, VA. Part of the reason we chose one of stops to be Lake Anna State Park in Virginia was because it is just under an hour from where we used to live. The park itself is nice with some trails and a lake beach, but we also had the opportunity to visit our former home and see some friends. Everything tastes better when you're camping! We visited Woodberry Forest and the big girls played dress up with Sophia. Don't go too deep! While camping at ...

http://alongtheway-heffner.blogspot.com/2012/06/teddy-bear-picnic.html
Sunday, June 10, 2012. On Harper's last day of school they hosted a "teddy bear picnic" . It was so cute to see the kids sitting next to their favorite friend. Harper took her favorite friend, Yoga or Bo-ga.who Nonnie made with Harper at Build-a-bear workshop. It was great seeing how far all these kids have come in a year and we look forward to seeing them over to summer and next year. One more time on the circle mat. They are so cute! Attentive little ones, wanting to sing one more song. Try it or buy it.

Tuesday, March 22, 2011. A Happy Valentines Day at Woodberry Forest.Since our playgroup meets every week and we had such a festive fun group of kids we decided to have our first valentines exchange of cards and goodies. Harper and I decided it would be fun to make a valentines box to collect and share our goodies in. We signed all our "Olivia" valentines and filled little goodie bags for everyone to enjoy and piled them all in our box all ready for our playdate. A Valentines Day romp at the playground.

Monday, February 28, 2011. A devoted post to Reiss. Many of you have not been able to meet Reiss.how would we describe her? Sweet, tough, loving, and so cute. Know if you should wish for the milestone or slow it down a bit so you can hang on to a bit more sanity. I think right now, I will wish for the milestone.it just makes life more fun, RIGHT! Our days in the jumper are numbered but she still enjoys it now and then. Waiting for the doctor at our 6 month check up. Just a baby gift and she seems happy!

Wednesday, September 15, 2010. The welcoming waters of Wrightsville Beach! From Hunt's perspective, summer never seems complete without at least one visit to Wrightsville Beach.and I can agree with him. This year we packed up our almost 2 year old, 3 week old and our 6 year old furry friend and headed south. Hunt and I don't travel much because we simply don't enjoy making these treks but then again who does? Wrightsville, always a great sight. It really is the beast beach in our mind. Friday, March 7, 2014. St Charles has a great on-going event around the Christmas season. The first day was the day after Thanksgiving and we enjoyed the day with family. Here's Sierra with her grandpa, aunt, and cousin Emily. She convinced Auntie Michelle to share some treats. There were funnel cakes and kettle corn. Yum! The girls were fascinated by this angle made out of plastic bottles. These guys were making chestnuts roasted on an open fire. Really. Have you ever actually eaten. I am mother to thre...

Wednesday, August 19, 2015. It is a beautiful sunny day here in the PNW! I've had three cups of coffee (it's only 10 AM) and I'm ready to go! Have I gotten a ton of sewing done lately? I did, however, scrap my idea for all the flowers in the window frame. And I think I have come up with something better. Don't worry: I didn't toss the flowers- -they will be used for another project; I can't let all that work just go to waste. What are you doing today? And there are lots of ideas there to inspire you!

My Journey Through Sewing. Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Well, look at me. Two posts in 3 days. What?
