Sew little time...

You know what I'm talking about. Friday, February 25, 2011. Simple doesn't always mean quick. At least not for me. It took me about 3 weeks to finish this simple and easy baby blanket for a co-worker and only because I realized that the shower was sooner than I expected! I had to put a rush on it. I think I'm realizing that I'm a loose ****** (HA! This was made using 2 strands throughout and you should see how wobbly it is. I used some acrylic baby soft yarn from Michael's. Hooray for simple things!

Sew little time...: Fun Girls

http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2010/11/fun-girls.html

You know what I'm talking about. Monday, November 29, 2010. Make a statement with Shutterfly Christmas photo cards. View the entire collection. I've ordered my holiday cards! I was hoping to get a cute picture of the girls and I when we were at Disneyland the day after Thanksgiving, but alas, the pictures were blurry, I'm not wearing lipstick and I look fat. There's always next year. Thats a cute photo of the girls, but miss your smiling face in the photo. November 30, 2010 at 10:19 AM. Hey, another post?

Sew little time...: June 2010

http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

You know what I'm talking about. Friday, June 25, 2010. I know I'd seen these dolls kind of in viewing of some blog or another. But I hadn't ever really paid attention until I was told a co-worker was decorating her first baby's room in that theme. You can see the dolls here. Meh, not a big fan. But that's what she wanted so I made her these. This one's embroidered. I had initially planned to embroidered the bib as well as a burp cloth, but the embroidery took me longer than I expected it to. She sent th...

Sew little time...: Cuffs

http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2010/12/cuffs.html

You know what I'm talking about. Monday, December 6, 2010. Carries some though in case you are ever in need of replacements. I pinned the cuff on after sewing it in a circle and then hand basted. I wanted to follow the stitching that was already there but I could only see from the right side. The cuff was way too small for my free arm so I had to sew very slowly while the cuff went up into a cup shape. Yet, they're not too long when her arms are down. Super smart and cute way to add to the jacket. A.

Sew little time...: T-shirt Undies and comparison to RTW

http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2010/07/t-shirt-undies-and-comparison-to-rtw.html

You know what I'm talking about. Thursday, July 29, 2010. T-shirt Undies and comparison to RTW. My sister turns her old t-shirts into rags. I turn mine into undies, shorts and bras for the girls. They don't turn out cute because I don't have cutsie t-shirts. But I'm going after function anyway. I did consider letting Naiobi draw on them with fabric markers but she wore them before I got a chance to offer that to her. The pattern above is That Darn Kat. Next up, my staple undie pattern: Ottobre, Winter 20...

Sew little time...: October 2009

http://sewlil.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

You know what I'm talking about. Sunday, October 18, 2009. Who would make these pajamas. I was just checking out Simplicity's new patterns when I came across this. I do not like their new website. I can't figure out how to copy the picture which is why I could only post a link. So what's cooking folks? I've had to increase my computers font significantly. I understand my vision will keep getting better and better. Here I am during the torturous week before the surgery when I had to wear glasses. And it's...

Purly Victorious: another oldie but goody

http://purlyvictorious.blogspot.com/2008/01/another-oldie-but-goodie.html

Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Another oldie but goody. Something overcame me the minute I started sewing on Rosie, my Singer Featherweight. I knew, the second the needle went down and punched that first hole, that my life would never be the same. And for old machines, let me tell you, Singers can require the hocking of things. I decided that the next model I would cop would be the 401. How can I possibly resist a machine that goes by the name Slant-O-Matic? I mean, anything O-Matic is a must have. (I ...

Purly Victorious: the girl i love

http://purlyvictorious.blogspot.com/2010/04/girl-i-love.html

Friday, April 02, 2010. The girl i love. I finished a new baby sweater and had a quick photo shoot on the lawn just now. I'll be back to yap about the sweater, but I want to share this picture of mischievous Mira, who commandeered my. And pounced on my props. It's hard to get good pictures of her, because of her color, and because she's maybe a little . hyper. She'll be two this summer. Life has grown infinitely more interesting and full since she's been around. 10:36 AM, April 02, 2010. Mira is a goddess.

Purly Victorious: when the itch for wycinanki demands to be scratched

http://purlyvictorious.blogspot.com/2008/04/when-itch-for-wycinanki-demands-to-be.html

Tuesday, April 29, 2008. When the itch for wycinanki demands to be scratched. This is how I get: Obsessed. Unable to stop pursuing something, even if it sucks the very life outta me. Sometime last year - spring? They were orphans from a family! These were volumes 3 and 4 - "Boxes to Card Tricks" and "Carryalls to Confections" respectively - and it became my mission like yesterday to find the rest and own them. To a family of four. Google led me to the holy grail, The Family Creative Workshop. I have been...

Today, The Family Creative Workshop. Would stand about as good a chance of being published as Sly and the Family Stone would of getting a record deal. And it's not just that. It was published, but how. Volume 20: Tea to Toys. Volume 15: Rosemaling to Scrimshaw. There are other great ones, but have a look inside&#...

Purly Victorious: another oldie but goody (part III)

http://purlyvictorious.blogspot.com/2008/02/another-oldie-but-goody-part-iii.html

Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Another oldie but goody (part III). Yes I won't claim that this post will prove to be worth the time lag since part I. Or even since its most recent delay, from Monday to today, but I can say I've picked up more knowledge about vintage machines, which I wouldn't have had to share had it not taken me this long! For every cloud, a silver lining (or, a glittery excuse). The real honest-to-goodness reason I wound up with Blanche. Is that I have no self-restraint. NO, c'mon!

Purly Victorious: another oldie but goody (part II)

http://purlyvictorious.blogspot.com/2008/01/another-oldie-but-goody-part-ii.html

Friday, January 18, 2008. Another oldie but goody (part II). I love an old sewing machine. Duh, right? With that fact once and for all established (probably I'll get busted saying it again), let me address some of the issues I've encountered or observed surrounding procuring and owning a vintage machine. That said, I use vintage just as liberally as everybody else (how to avoid it? People are loyal to particular brands. If you check out the comments from part I. Of this post, you'll see that Ellen's.

Sisters in art, sisters at heart. Book End Makeover – DIY in under 20 minutes. December 8, 2011. I’m a sucker for instant gratification. It’s actually really bad, so it is kind of nice that I realized I could dress up some uglyblack metal book ends in to something that is super cute, super quick, and really cheap. Bookends (I used two since I needed both of them). 1 piece of 12″x12″ (30.4cmx30.4cm) scrapbook paper. Trace your book end then cut it out. Save the middle piece. 3 Once you get both pieces on ...

Kids Clothes Week/Halloween Costume. Well, it looks like I finished an outfit for Kids Clothes Week just by the hairs on my chinny chin chin! It’s the first time I’ve got it done. Any way, it’s also Olivia’s Halloween costume and she loves it! First, she wanted to be a butterfly, but once she saw a nurse costume she had to be a nurse, just like her daddy. I need to get a pic of them together in there nurse outfits! The dress in a BOO! They are so customizable and fun. The white t-shirt is Made by Rae.
