Sew Lillianne: February 2010
http://sewlillianne.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 2, 2010. And now for something totally different. I'm a bit of a craft flake, I admit it, I almost embrace it. When I feel uninspired or blocked I quit. I put the project aside and revisited it from time to time. I would rather finish it later with a renewed sense of creativity than right then simply to get it done. So here is what I did, a layout of Nat at Disney. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My name is Kerryanne and I'm the proud mom to four wonderful kids, Harrison, Henry, Natalie and...

Sew Lillianne: January 2011
http://sewlillianne.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 6, 2011. Fun with fabric scraps. Anyone who sews knows that in a very short time one can amass a pretty big fabric scrap stash. I cannot bear to get rid of them but since I don't quilt(yet! I'm not really sure what to do with them. The bonus to this was being able to use some of my scraps. Here are a couple I've done. I decided to make the scarf in polar fleece rather than the wool the book suggests. I also made it easier by cutting my circles out using my Cricket and ironing my fab...

I have been sewing every free moment I get and I have a newfound confidence to branch out and try things I never would have considered in the past, but more on that a bit later. Sunday, December 5, 2010. Favorite Wardrobe Staple- Jumpers. I LOVE, I mean LOVE plaid, it is by far my very favorite print and I use it all the time in both my wardrobe and the girls', so I nearly passed out when I saw this. I normally am not a fan of Joann's fabrics and rarely buy fabric other than muslin and utility fabrics but this was quite the fantastic find. Here is a pic of my haul! Excuse the horrible photo of the bottom jumper). Saturday, December 4, 2010. Lately I have been so inspired by vint...

Sisters in art, sisters at heart. Book End Makeover – DIY in under 20 minutes. December 8, 2011. I’m a sucker for instant gratification. It’s actually really bad, so it is kind of nice that I realized I could dress up some uglyblack metal book ends in to something that is super cute, super quick, and really cheap. Bookends (I used two since I needed both of them). 1 piece of 12″x12″ (30.4cmx30.4cm) scrapbook paper. Trace your book end then cut it out. Save the middle piece. 3 Once you get both pieces on ...

Kids Clothes Week/Halloween Costume. Well, it looks like I finished an outfit for Kids Clothes Week just by the hairs on my chinny chin chin! It’s the first time I’ve got it done. Any way, it’s also Olivia’s Halloween costume and she loves it! First, she wanted to be a butterfly, but once she saw a nurse costume she had to be a nurse, just like her daddy. I need to get a pic of them together in there nurse outfits! The dress in a BOO! They are so customizable and fun. The white t-shirt is Made by Rae.

You know what I'm talking about. Friday, February 25, 2011. Simple doesn't always mean quick. At least not for me. It took me about 3 weeks to finish this simple and easy baby blanket for a co-worker and only because I realized that the shower was sooner than I expected! I had to put a rush on it. I think I'm realizing that I'm a loose hooker (HA! This was made using 2 strands throughout and you should see how wobbly it is. I used some acrylic baby soft yarn from Michael's. Hooray for simple things!

Monday, 13 July 2015. Bonjour à tous,. This refashion is a quick one. Voici quelque chose de rapide. I have recently started running/walking for health reasons. I also use an app on my phone to help me keep up with my progress and I want to hear some music while I run. So I need pockets to hold my phone and ipod. Une fois, je suis allée courir avec mon téléphone dans ma poche de pantalon et après une heure de bonne course/marche, lorsque je suis arrivée à la maison pour vérifier ce que j'avais fait, je m...

Inspiration. Encouragement. Fun. Sewing and creating my way through life! Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Baby It's Cold Outside. Yes it's cold outside, but I was toasty warm in this jacket I made from McCalls 7026. I basically made view A with view B's sleeves. I wanted the longer sleeve on this. It also has the thumb hole although I never actually use those. So until next time. Monday, November 14, 2016. Knit Pants - V8859. These are dark blue (like jeans). I made the version with the double pleated kn...

A stitch in time would have confused Einstein! Sunday, August 23, 2009. Jeans Back Patch Pocket Tutorial. There was a question on my favourite sewing list about sewing on patch pockets. I'm making jeans for DD(16) at the moment and thought I'd take pictures and share my technique along the way. This is for a standard 5 straight sided jeans pocket as shown below. Overlock the top raw edge of the pocket. Fold the top edge of the pocket down 2.5 cm with right sides together. Progress so far . Turn the pocke...
