My paintings are primarily the result of a search to connect the personal with the collective. Wordless communication gives rise to the discovery of previously unconscious patterns and forms. Themes of the Earth, mortality, magic, emotion, time and language continually arise, often linked to the humble and overlooked areas of daily life. Although my paintings are generally abstract, I do not avoid figurative imagery. SHARE THIS PAGE WITH OTHERS:.

Sheila Ghelani
Sheila is an artist whose work spans performance. She enjoys the weight of words when spoken or held and finds multiples of objects and actions arranged in repetitious patterns very reassuring. She likes to cut things up, break things apart and mix things together. She is also very interested in the practice of medicine and care and the relationship between art and science with particular focus on hybridity. She is currently working on Common Salt. Series, and developing her latest project Elemental.

Making waves.from Sea Voyage Series. At times I feel as if I am spread out over the landscape and inside things, and am myself living in every tree, in the splashing of the waves, in the clouds and the animals that come and go, in the procession of the seasons.
