Food blog – our yummy reviews. July 12, 2011. July 12, 2011. A two for one pub, based (surprisingly at the side of a river) in Northwich. The food however, was a different story. For mains, we both opted for a pie option, I went for Ale and Hearty ( Beef and ale) which came with chips all drenched in gravy brilliant. If I was being picky, the gravy was basic granule gravy if they had put a little effort in and made the gravy it would have been perfect! Would you recommend No. Would you go again – no.

It can be found in Manchester town centre, on what I can only describe as a back street alley behind Canal Street ( No puns intended). It has been here for a good while but I’ve never been in, so when asked if I wanted to go I wasn’t going to turn away the opportunity.
