Nothing to do but smile. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. July, my friend, you're almost gone. We've been up to shtuff. NC was wonderful. Nothing beats 4 generations together under one roof. We laughed a lot. We ate a lot. We slept not a lot. The end. We came home to abundance. And sickies. Thankfully the sickies came and went and Abundance continues to grace us with her presence. The days are slow and lazy. We rarely have a plan. We're hot and sticky, but free and happy. It's been a good July. The Bug turned 2.

Nothing to do but smile. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. And then there was June. It's been a pretty quiet month for us. We leave tomorrow for our annual trek to North Carolina, so we've been relaxing and preparing as we count down. We went strawberry picking last week. Then we hacked back the rhubarb and threw together enough strawberry rhubarb freezer jam to see us through until next strawberry season. We finally started eating on our own leafy greens! Nothing to do but smile. Friday, August 7, 2015. Building our time away. During these long, hot summer days, I tend to have the kids do indoor activities from about 11:30-2:30. It keeps us out of the hottest part of the day and mixes up the activities a bit. One of my favorite things about this time is the creativity. Nothing to do but smile. Friday, June 12, 2015. As the children get older, I'm more able to step in and help with the morning farm chores. I love that quiet half hour in the morning, especially this time of year when the temperature is perfect! Watering the garden comes first. We have added a few raised beds to the smaller plot we created last year while I was pregnant with Annie. We'll continue to expand the garden as our family grows.
