Diary of an MGB. Saturday, February 25, 2012. The other Women - BMW 120D. I know I've been quiet recently, thank fully the MGB is behaving, but this one isn't. She is a BMW 120D endurance racer run by SVDP racing here in Dubai. A team of us from the local Petrolheads forum are all acting as spanner monkey's. However our first event the Dubai 24 hours was a DNS, much problems with injectors and electronics. Full write up is here at circuit pro digital magazine. Links to this post. Diary of an MGB: August 2013
http://diary-of-mgb.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Diary of an MGB. Wednesday, August 7, 2013. When I first bought the car the speedo was jumping, the DPH told me that it was the cable and he even had a spare which he gave me. Well loyal readers (if there are any) you may recall I have changed the cable twice (the spare from the DPO was for a RHD car) and bought a new speedo. Here it is (note the new cable from a previous attempt). Hmm, something missing. Its the male pin on the angle drive. And YES it works, I finally have a Speedo! Next Hmm, we'll see.

Diary of an MGB: April 2012
http://diary-of-mgb.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Diary of an MGB. Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Well it had to happen one day, the ride of shame! I think it’s something in the distributor, as stumbling came back then she stalled then wouldn’t fire. I took the distributor cover off at the road side, nothing obvious, except it needs a good clean. Oh and the “digital points” that the DPO told me he had installed were imaginary, still got breaker points fitted. So more toys ordered;. A timing light, with digital settings and dwell reading. http://diary-of-mgb.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Diary of an MGB. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. RANT - Car show, or NOT. Last year just after I got the car there was the annual car show but too late for me to enter, however this year I registered as soon as entries opened. I filled in all the forms etc and got the entry details a few days before the event. Hmm it rains this time of year, so I sent them an email asking what was the plan and told no problem. Turned up at the event tonight, lots of tents seems good. Hard top and Wasta = Tent. Therefore Ia...

Diary of an MGB. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Genuine Milage . . . . . . HONEST. You may recall from earlier posts I changed the speedo cable and that didn't fix the problem so a job that has been on the to do list for ages is to replace the speedometer. Found the right model New Old Stock (NOS) on ebay in the states so time to change it out. Tonight I pulled out the old one and had a play at resetting the odometer readings as I want to keep it consistent. Old one in very sorry state. Out and opened up.

Diary of an MGB: October 2013
http://diary-of-mgb.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Diary of an MGB. Monday, October 14, 2013. Went out for a drive, or tried to. Got in isolator off, ignition on and wait for tick tick as the float chambers filled but no tick tick from the fuel pump. This is not a new problem for MG's, although it is a first for us, so I applied the correct repair method and hit it! This worked and thankfully tick tick, however, it also went squirt, and poured fuel all over the floor! A crawl under the car showed it was time to overhaul the fuel pump. Links to this post.
