Take the Mine Tour. Take the Mine Tour. Initially discovered around 1900. The Sierra Mine's ore bodies were never rich enough to warrant active mining. Assays ran about 1/2 ounce of silver per ton of ore mined. HOURS & FEES. Open Daily 10:00am - 4:00pm. June through August: 10 AM - 4 PM. May and September: 10 AM - 2 PM. New tour departs every 1/2 hour with the first tour at 10 am and the last Tour departing at 4 pm. 1 Hour and 15 minutes. Bring your camera and a light jacket. CLICK HERE for our Tour fees.
