Because of constant tidal action in and out of Taunton Bay, Judy's Point is thought to have had some the richest silver veins of any of the Schoodic silver mining communities. Millions of gallons of saltwater, rich in minerals were deposited in the bay every tide cycle. Multiply this over millions of years and one can see how this area became the silver mining capitol of New England. We have perhaps only one generation before this information sifts away like sand in an hour glass. It must be preserved.
