Life is Not Fair. I have occasionally heard my children say those 3 little words, “ It’s not fair. 8221; I tend to give them the same answer my mom gave me. “ No one ever promised you that life would be fair. 8221; Recently I have decided to add a little something to my answer. Life isn’t fair. But my kids fall FAR. On the “fair” side of things. Today was like a slap. Sanele and his 19 year old sister, Busi* were orphaned in 2006 when both parents died. Extended relatives in Bhekulwandle took them in...

Welcome to our BLOG. A Mngoma Family Christmas. January 4, 2016. We had a wonderfully Zulu Christmas at Girlie and Jabu Mngoma’s home. Girlie is Kerry’s Zulu language partner and teacher and a close friendship has developed between them over these years of language learning. We were treated as family on Christmas day and we got to practice some of our Zulu! The Potential of the Church to Transform Society. June 29, 2015. 2014 Training Reaches 6 Rural Community Gardens. Um Not my most favorite topic. I have quite a disdain. I remember as a child helping my mom pick ginormous ticks off of our dogs and then squash them on the driveway, leaving little blood stains all over our drive. Gross. I sort of enjoyed doing it as a child – but not so into the tick squashing now! On to the kitchen – my life#10. Welcome back to my home! Well, at least in a virtual. Welcome to our BLOG. Oh The Places You’ll Go! June 15, 2016. When our son Jeremy was born, a few people gave some wise advice, “Cherish every moment because it goes by too quickly.” At the time we were surrounded by diapers, baby burp cloths and wet wipes… lots of wet wipes. That advice has come back to my heart these last months before Jeremy begins his […]. How It All Began…. March 10, 2016. The Potential of the Church to Transform Society. June 29, 2015. Honey Bees Move in at the Wiens – Sinethemba

Welcome to our BLOG. Honey Bees Move in at the Wiens. May 27, 2015. Dan scrapes the extra wax off before he moves the bees to their new hive. In Farming God’s Way we speak of God’s all-sufficiency. Bees are an incredible example. I’ve read that, due to their pollinating function, bees are directly responsible for 1 out of every 3 bites of food we eat. And unfortunately, bee colonies are under incredible stress, especially in North America and Europe. Well, I’ve taken up a new hobby beekeeping! I set up a...
