An Australian family living in Ghana. Places to visit in Ghana. Sodom and Gomorrah: a day trip to hell. February 13, 2015. Places to visit in Ghana. Of being one of the 10 most polluted places on earth. And while statistics are now declining, over 27,900 cases have been reported with 217 deaths (as of 29 November 2014). But why would you visit such a place? Why would we want to take this voyeuristic journey into deprivation? It’s not as bad as it looks! Victoria Borg, Accra, Ghana. I’m glad you wer...

To go to Togo | six degrees north

http://sixdegreesnorth.me/2014/10/18/to-go-to-togo

An Australian family living in Ghana. Places to visit in Ghana. To go to Togo. October 18, 2014. Our girls had a swim meet in Lomé, the capital of Togo, and I thought tagging along would be an easy way to visit a new country. After all, it’s somewhat unlikely that we would visit Togo should we leave West Africa, and in the expat world of Accra fabled stories abound of French cheese and wine. Two very good reasons for me to visit. Volta River flood plains: prime agricultural land in Ghana. Was this lack o...

Beyond the Cornfields: March 2015

http://beyondthecornfields.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

FOLLOW OUR UNUSUAL LIFE ABROAD (currently in MALTA) IN THE FOREIGN SERVICE. Sunday, March 29, 2015. Filling in the Space- Milan, Italy. The previous couple posts were the brunt of our time in Milan. And I found it easier to post pics, if I chopped up the trip. Kinda have a habit of oversnapping pics.kinda. We enjoyed the Katy Perry concert, Lunar New Year and Duomo immensely, but these little tidbits sure made us happy, as well. Having no real agenda was nice ;) Loving lunch pizza so much that we ordered...

Beyond the Cornfields: June 2014

http://beyondthecornfields.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

FOLLOW OUR UNUSUAL LIFE ABROAD (currently in MALTA) IN THE FOREIGN SERVICE. Monday, June 30, 2014. Our sweet neighbor invited us to come pick nectarines at his farm recently. So on a fresh summer day during our school break, we meandered down the winding alleys and streets of Gharghur and landed at his gate. A week's worth of nectarines, flowers and big smiles. such a nice morning! We've also had the great opportunity to visit other local farms. Monday, June 23, 2014. World Cup at the Aquarium. Beyond the Cornfields: Behind the Scenes Tour- Malta National Aquarium

http://beyondthecornfields.blogspot.com/2015/05/behind-scenes-tour-malta-national.html

FOLLOW OUR UNUSUAL LIFE ABROAD (currently in MALTA) IN THE FOREIGN SERVICE. Monday, May 18, 2015. Behind the Scenes Tour- Malta National Aquarium. Aside from beaches, the Malta Aquarium has to be our most frequented place in Malta that we go as a family. It is solitude from winter gloom and a retreat from summer heat. It teaches. It relaxes. It amazes each of us in our own way. The playground keeps the kids thrilled, but so do the fish. I love that they are both so familiar and at home at the aquarium.

FOLLOW OUR UNUSUAL LIFE ABROAD (currently in MALTA) IN THE FOREIGN SERVICE. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Verdala International Night- Malta- 2015. Each year, the International school hosts an evening International Night. It is one of the biggest events, with each table filled with various country's foods and treats. We all pitch in, cook and volunteer at the stands. Our stand was a hit, maybe in part because of awesome Ruben, who was yelling out "get your hot dogs, get your fresh popcorn! DIARY OF A MOVE: December 2013

http://www.diary-of-a-move.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

DIARY OF A MOVE. The Diary of a Move is a story about crossing borders and cultures. It is addressed to all those who have been foreigners at least at some point in their lives. Monday, December 16, 2013. We took the kids to a “family” concert last weekend, part of a series offered by Zurich’s main concert hall. The theme was Christmas singing. There were several children’s choirs. Somehow all fit perfectly. A slightly different, and perhaps more powerful experience than I had expected. One would have ex...

DIARY OF A MOVE. The Diary of a Move is a story about crossing borders and cultures. It is addressed to all those who have been foreigners at least at some point in their lives. Tuesday, May 6, 2014. I’m in transition. I don't have time to live. This behaviour would be perfectly understandable and even deserve a bit of indulgence – given that we are about to move house again – if transition had not. There is a bestselling. Is it special childhood experiences and upbringing? Going to be in some. 8220;I&#8...

Saturday, May 17, 2008. In the month or so that I've neglected my blog, Liberia has been a busy place - full of celebrity visits (Akon and Ban Ki-Moon, George Bush and Jeff Sachs), rice price hikes, jet skiing around Marshall islands, a trip to Robertsport, etc. Below, is a pictorial review of a few highlights/observations from April. here's hoping May is a more consistent, blogging month!
