Coaching Staff
Steve Jones has been coaching school teams in various sports for twenty years, but will admit to having a decided preference for basketball. And over that time, Jones' teams have acquitted themselves rather well, with five appearances in the finals and two championships at the Grade 8 level. Since coming over to St. Joe's in 2007, Mr. Jones has coached the Junior Girl Jaguars for two seasons, notching a UOVHSAA "A" Division championship in 2008 to go along with a trip to EOSSAA. What a difference a minute makes! That’s about all the time it took for the Walther Zadow Wildcats to turn a 14-14 tie into a 20-14 lead in quarter-final action versus our very own. 8217;s Jaguars in the annual girls’ tournament held today at St. Joe’s. Zadow eventually took the contest 22-16, and went on to handily defeat fellow top-four seeds McNab and Cobden to take the championship honours for the day.
