Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Lions, and Tigers, and Bears. Ok, so I didn't see lions and tigers, but I did see bears this weekend! I started my break by visiting the National Zoo in Washington D.C. It was an amazing experience! There was so much to see and do! I just wish I had more time to spend at the zoo. When I think of the zoo, the first thing I think of is animals, never the written word. Alicia's circle: Journal Writing
http://aliciascircle.blogspot.com/2008/02/journal-writing.html
Thursday, February 28, 2008. Teachers can evaluate journals by giving students one point for every entry made. Teachers want to remember that someof students writing may be personal and can be indicated by students writing read me at the top of an entry or by writing private. Teachers can incoperate this into their instructional programs by allowing students to write to an author that they have read about or to allow students to write business letters to ask questions to further their understanding.

I do not remember learning anything about poetry until late middle school, at which point I was told my poems were not creative enough. How can someone else judge my creativity? Has the student experimented with the poetic form presented in the minilesson? Has the student used the process approach in writing, revising, and editing the poem? Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
