OPEN STREET SK8 AREA. STREET SKATE AREA - CONTESTS AND OPEN SKATE. The Street Contest will be held in an area adjacent to the skatepark. All skaters are welcome to have fun and participate, no charge, with prizes going to the winners of each event.This event is open to everyone - all ages. This event is open to everyone - all ages. Neighborhood Park Improvements
The city of Corpus Christi has many small neighborhood parks located throughout the city. The majority of these parks provide excellent recreational areas, are well matained, and most of them are 100% grass covered. However, they are generally not utilized to the greatest extent. The intent of the funds generated from this event, SK8 Del Sol, is to support enhancing the existing neighborhood park areas with multi-use concrete areas , better know commonly as slabs . Parking
There will be very limited public parking available in the parking lots directly adjacent to the skate park . There will be public parking on Ocean Drive, but last year this quickly filled up and resulted in long walks to the park event area. It is recommended and if at all possible that you use the parking lots north of the skate park, just beyond the amphitheater. We regret any Inconvenience this may cause. CONTEST RULES
Registration will open approximately one hour prior to each age group's start time, entry fee is payable at this time. Only cash or check are acceptable - no credit cards. Have a parent present at registration. With valid ID, to complete and sign the release form. Entry is based on a first come - first serve basis. There are only 30 to 50 contestants for each age group, this is being done due to time limitations. HELMETS MUST BE WORN BY ALL CONTESTANTS. Pads are strongly recommended.
