Skeena2050 was created to spark conversation about the future of this region. We wanted to get beyond the simple, limited choices you find in a survey, and invite people to openly speak their minds. These were the questions:. What's important to you and your family? How do you get your voice included in decisions that affect you? Do you feel the community and region are headed in the right direction? Do you think there is a tipping point regarding development? Is there an outstanding land question in BC?

You might be wondering. How did skeena2050 select participants? Mostly at random. Our aim was to engage people from as many parts of the community as possible. It was also important for us to hear from people whose voices aren't included in other venues. This is why our volunteers took time to go door-to-door and meet people at their homes. (Some people were also invited to participate at farmers' markets and other events.). How was information recorded? Most of our questions. Do you like this page?

In the first half of 2014, skeena2050 volunteers went door-to-door and interviewed over 600 people about their ideas, hopes and fears for the region. Our intent was to create a safe space for dialogue; to listen thoughtfully; and to share what we heard with the wider community. As you can imagine, there's a vast amount of content involved. WELCOME TO MY HOME PAGE. This page is dedicated to the heritage of our adopted children, Melvin, Ian and Melanie, who have brought us great blessing and joy. Their people are the Kwakiutl (Kwagiulth) people, who inhabit the northern end of Vancouver Island, in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. I’m Rob Brown. For the past 35 years, I’ve fished Skeena system. In winter, sometimes alone, sometimes with a partner, I’ve strapped on snowshoes and tramped over the drifts to fish the Kitsumkalum River for steelhead. In the spring I’ve divided my angling time between the lower reaches of the Kalum, chasing spring steelhead, spring salmon, cutthroat trout and Dolly Varden char, and the Lakelse River, hunting cutthroat trout and steelhead. You’re not a bleeder are you?
