Ros Green - Gingernut Birder. My adventures into the ornithological / zoological world and more. Wednesday, 4 February 2015. The last month in Australia has been phenomenal! The ecology, flora and fauna are all entirely new to me, and I'm endlessly learning new things on my travels. Since then I've been to Fraser Island, Kingaroy and the Bunya mountains with Mum and Wayne (her friend). The Bunya's were my first taste of a rainforest and quite incredible. Since then I've been working my way north, travell...

In Pursuit of The Worthwhile. Tuesday, 17 March 2015. From My Draft Archive: Amigurumi Budgie! When I was rummaging around my blog archive to find this post. I realised that I have quite a few drafts sitting in my blogger account, unpublished and unloved. So I thought that I would gradually pick them up, dust them off, and actually post them! So here's another, 'From My Draft Archive'. This was written a little while ago, back before the New Year in fact! While I didn’t feel well enough to go out, ...

Birding,Beer & Skittles: October 2014
http://birdingbeerandskittles.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Birding,Beer and Skittles. Tuesday, 14 October 2014. Memories of Cape May, New Jersey Day 8. Our last early start of the trip, up at 5:45 am and out to Higbee for one final time. There was nothing in the way of migration but we did see a flock of scoters which flew behind the tree line in front of us and then didn't re-appear. We made our way down to the beach and saw them on the shoreline, identifying them as Black (Common) Scoters. A walk out to the beach produced a single Surf Scoter. Back at the car ...

http://birdingbeerandskittles.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-walk-in-black-forest.html
Birding,Beer and Skittles. Monday, 8 June 2015. A Walk in the Black Forest. Last Friday, the 29th, I headed off to Gatwick after leaving work at 12:30pm to spend the weekend in Germany with my daughter and her fiance. There was plenty to keep me occupied with a large group of Common Kestrels, the most I'd ever seen at one time,Common Redstart, Yellowhammer and fly over Common Buzzards and Ravens. At the next and last vineyard I again opted for the car park and was rewarded with good views of a Hoopoe.

In Pursuit of The Worthwhile. Thursday, 31 July 2014. Still Here, Just Busy. This is just a quick pop by to say thank you for still reading my blog and leaving me lovely comments! I am still here, it's just that I'm in my home town, in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. I'm catching up with my mum and my friends, and doing lots of activities that I always mean to do when I visit, but that always get put back for next time. Well, now that we are emigrating, there won't be so many next times! I was so happy :).
