Reach for the Sky: September 2011
http://reachforthesky2011.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Reach for the Sky. Thursday, September 29, 2011. Why We Swim, Part II. For most of us, our bucket list includes things like climbing Mt. Everest, skydiving, seeing the Taj Mahal, diving with Great White Sharks (okay, some of us), and things like that. Skylar’s bucket list was different. He dreamed of doing the things that most people take for granted. Like sit up unassisted. Run and play ball. Breath normally without having our lungs pumped three times a day. The Boy that Didn't Want to Go In the Ocean.

Reach for the Sky. Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Welcome to Team Member Carol Petrie Kinney. 47 (for another two weeks). Countless freestyle laps beginning in high school, when my super-athletic mom hurt her hip and was told to rehab it in a pool and she didn't want to swim by herself. While I'm swimming, my boys like to play a game where they see how close/fast they can swim across my lap lane without crashing into me. Goal for this race:. Support fundraising for SMA research. Why We Swim, Part II.

It was a glorious day for an open water swim. Jack Bahrenburg nails the swim, defies the Alcatraz currents and emerges unscathed - no shark wounds at all! It was a fine day and a fine way to celebrate Skylar Bahrenburg :-).

Reach for the Sky. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Calling All Rough Water Swimmers (and Wanna Be's)! Everyone’s “bucket list” includes jumping into frigid 50-degree water and swimming a mile and a half through shark-infested waters while battling ferocious currents that can sweep you out into the boundless ocean never to be seen again. Okay, maybe not. But here’s the good news. In order to be a way cool member of the “Reach for the Sky” fundraising swim team, you don’t have to! Unless you’re a major wuss.
