Slapdash

Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Remember how much Sam hated swimming lessons when he was almost three? Remember how we had to hold his hand and walk around the pool watching. The other kids in his class play games and sing songs and swim in the pool? Well, that happened, and we had to take some time away from swimming to get over the trauma. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Slapdash: April 2015

http://slapdashdoc.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. I'm probably not helping with Sam's separation issues by leaving for Boston tomorrow. Or maybe that is helping? Either way, I had to comfort Sam a great deal at bedtime tonight. And just when I thought he was finally asleep, he whispered, "If I can't see you, I will think about you.". So, obviously, I burst into tears and left the room. Monday, April 27, 2015. It's Good for Him.

Slapdash: June 2014

http://slapdashdoc.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything. Saturday, June 21, 2014. I draw an imaginary line in the sand every time I have to put Sam down to sleep these days. Today the line was 2 times Out of the room and I Lock the Door. That took about 30 seconds. I feel badly about this, but let's face it, I'd never be sitting here writing this if I hadn't drawn that line. I'd be chasing that boy around the house and taking deep breaths. I F ≠ ODB. If you'd...

Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything. Saturday, August 08, 2015. Somehow our 3-hour Car trip to south western Minnesota was actually a 5-hour Car trip. We should have done more preparation to figure out this key detail ahead of time. Instead we complained and some of us cried. In the end we made it to our destination. I think Ill see you at your destination today! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). St Paul, MN. Just some slapdash thoughts that have very little to do with anything and a lot to do with everything. Friday, August 07, 2015. That's what our awesome UPS man said when he delivered the Boxes yesterday. It might be time to cut back on the online shopping. I endorse all online shopping. Also, is your UPS driver named Tom? The driver who used to deliver packages to my office when it was in your neighborhood was the best. Tell him I say hello. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). St Paul, MN.

Monday, April 20, 2015. Good things from leftovers. I had leftover spaghetti squash from making a fake mac and cheese dish(real cheese, fake mac). There were maybe 2 cups of the mixture in the fridge and I was pretty sure it'd get tossed because reheated fake mac and cheese, bluck. So, I thought about fritters or making it into pizza crust or something. Then it hit me, PANCAKES! Like zucchini pancakes only with spaghetti squash! Saturday, August 15, 2015. Hobble Creek Half Marathon. While I love running, I don't actually race that often. Utah is a fantastic place to live if you like to run, since there are oodles of outdoors enthusiasts here and plenty of races to choose from during good weather months, but races are expensive! Slapdasher – Words. Some pictures.

February 16, 2016. Over the past couple of years I’m discovering that lots of things I used to dislike (spinach, snow shoveling, small towns… to name but a few) have somehow grown on me, and now I find myself quite enjoying them. Some of these things have simply become acquired tastes (wine) but others I think have to do with changing tolerances as I grow older. Yay Good for me. Theme by Anders Noren. Mdash; Up ↑.

A cape for a little girl. May 20, 2011. What an ugly mess. I took a length of the ribbon, and hand stitched it over the ruffle seam. My plan was to stitch the ribbon down on the top and bottom, but it was so hard to push the needle through, and my time was running very short, so I just sewed the top of the ribbon. At some point, I realized I needed to see how this was going to look on my daughter, but really hated to spring it on her before it was finished. I looked around, and found a willing model.
