A screen shot from Navionics showing where we anchored at China Camp (lower left, anchor symbol) and Vallejo Marina (upper right, push pin symbol). Deepest water is white, shallowest is dark blue. SV Pilgrim: Back to Producing Dust
http://m382pilgrim.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-producing-dust.html
SV Pilgrim - 1979 Morgan 382 - Homeport: Beaufort, NC. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Back to Producing Dust. Our recent progress with installing electrical and plumbing components really inspires me to continue work on those systems, but some items remaining on our project list require grinding inside the hull. Grinding inside generates awful gelcoat and fiberglass dust. Despite our best efforts at masking the fine dust always finds its way into the rest of the boat. What is on the get the grinding done list?

SV Pilgrim: Refinishing the Engine Compartment Overhead & Walls
http://m382pilgrim.blogspot.com/2015/08/refinishing-engine-compartment-overhead.html
SV Pilgrim - 1979 Morgan 382 - Homeport: Beaufort, NC. Monday, August 3, 2015. Refinishing the Engine Compartment Overhead and Walls. The best illustration I could find of the existing paint in the engine compartment is a dated image (old drain manifold, hole from original engine raw water intake on port, refrigeration lines feed into ice box, and no bulkhead separating the engine compartment from the cockpit locker). State of Pilgrim's engine compartment prior painting. We plan to install new sound proo...

Windborne in Puget Sound. Life aboard s/v Eolian. Monday, April 27, 2015. A couple of posts back I talked. About getting some color-matched gelcoat from Fiberlay. And I promised I would tell you about the results. Well here they are:. Filling some screw holes and chips on the edge of a cockpit seat. Looks pretty good, doesn't it? But the color match is absolutely perfect! Huge kudos to Fiberlay. For a match well made! Posted by Robert Salnick. Monday, April 20, 2015. First, at home I cut and trimmed the ...

Boat Projects: 11/9/14 - 11/16/14

Friday, November 14, 2014. Quick and Effective, Water Hose Repair. I've been cruising for a while now, and sometimes you can not get proper boat bits in the more remote parts of the world. Recently I replaced a raw water hose which had a steel spiral wound "spring" in the core of the water hose, which gave the hose "anti kinking properties" when bent around corners. This hose however corroded at the ends and the hose started to leak at the ends. The hose has been installed for a month now, and is both wa...

Boat Projects: Adapting Old Water Pipe to New
http://boatprojects.blogspot.com/2014/07/adapting-old-water-pipe-to-new.html
Thursday, July 3, 2014. Adapting Old Water Pipe to New. On my boat, I have half inch water pipe made from a "plastic" and flexible material. Unfortunately, this is now outdated, with most boats now using 15mm flexible pipe. This presents problems with adapting the old to the new. Also, the fittings used to connect this pipe, (black elbow to left) are no longer available and sometimes come apart. So here's how I have over come this problem. First, use a dremel stone to slightly enlarge the hole in the cen...
