Tears From The Pen. Wednesday, January 14, 2009. Speech at 2nd Night of Kwanzaa At Otisville Correctional Facility- Decemver 27, 2008. I think the first time I paid any attention to him on the television or gave a listening ear to the conversation about him was on 98.7 KISS FM’s “Open Line” radio talk show in early March. Then came the slew of categorizations:. The definitions attributed to this man were given by Blacks, Whites, Latinos, Asians; by the poor, by the rich, by the free, by the incarcerated.

Brooklyn's Political Prisoners: November 2008
http://bklynpoliticalprisoners.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Sex, Porn, Pedophilia, and Politics as Usual in New York's Capital. Several months ago the public was appalled and ashamed of the man crowned "the sheriff of Wall St.", former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. His involvement in a prostitution ring disgraced the office of governor in New York State. His accelerated fall from grace into political abyss was not the anomaly of debauchery in Albany's political fraternity of perversion. Is this his idea of public service? George C...

Monday, January 13, 2014. The Complexities of Forgiveness. 8220;50, ya’ll”. Those are the words—a number separated by a contraction, of my comrade, Esther Armah. As this stalwart of journalism, known for the radical concept of Emotional Justice, celebrated her fiftieth birthday, with that declaratory Facebook post along with beautiful selfies, that prove that black don’t crack. I sit in a bagel shop where memories of hate and pain reside—by others towards me. Gentrification, the term used in politically ...

Brooklyn's Political Prisoners: March 2013
http://bklynpoliticalprisoners.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 25, 2013. Just some ish I wrote about gun violence.gentrification, and stop and frisk, and prison, and being from Crown Heights. But, then I was released 10 years, two months, and seven days later. My ride home was nothing like I never imagined. Somehow I never thought about the first day, the ride home. I just thought about leaving prison, never about entering Brooklyn again. Does that make sense? 8220;Excuse me,” ever so politely the cop said as he approached me. Building. My big sis,...

http://aboutmarlon.blogspot.com/2011/07/19-months-later.html
Pens frm the Pen. Sunday, July 24, 2011. Life happens so brlliantly fast. As I look back on the past 1 1/2 year, I feel a measure of accomplishment. Yet, along with that good feeling there remains feelings of guilt and thoughts of, " am I peaking too fast? Am I forgetting about the people behind me? How traumatized am I by those 10 years? I was published in an anthology and participated in abook signing/panel discussion where I signed autographs. Can you believe it! Which is why I will write more.
