Just a little more from the Ochre Pits - #2. Written about with more detail, in previous post here. 100 kms west of Alice Springs, along the Larapinta Trail, these Ochre Pits are situated on the Namatjira Drive, Burt Plain, N.T. A big mountain, and a big salt lake too. It was mid afternoon as our coach arrived at this lookout for afternoon tea. Always enjoyed not only the comeraderie over a quick cuppa and bite to eat, but seeing brand new scenes like this, Mount Connor. Not only were we to see Mt. Connor, but "across the road" we were to discover another amazing view. Climbing uphill some to reach the top, but I couldn't get over quite how red the sand was there! The white flowering native bushes are shown close-up below this.

Flowers and butterflies, in a winter garden. And, while I was drifting somewhat . with random thoughts, well ahead along the garden path, this butterfly landed. Well there was my photo opportunity, since camera was right there too. Pretty much, it is one of just four butterflies that I might ever see around here. There was audio-music in the bushland, as we walked closer to next amazing sculpture - not knowing then what it was leading to, or why? There were many photos from a wonderful day visit to Bruno's Gardens, that I'd shared some years back.
