The Easy Runner Sodbury Slog : Race History

The first race over a similar course, called the Beagle Bash, was held in 1990 changing its name in 1999 to the Sodbury Slog. The race always coincides with Remembrance Day and is preceded by exhortation, two minutes silence and playing of the Last Post, which sets the scene for a memorable day. For which we are most grateful). The race simply could not take place. The race attracts runners from all over the UK from Kent, Cornwall, Lancashire, Yorkshire the Midlands, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. RACE WAR...

The route is varied. Starting from Chipping Sodbury School. Running along the wide High Street and onto Sodbury Common; here's where the mud starts, the common is very marshy even in summer, and becomes very wet and boggy in November making the going especially tough. Want to run the whole course in just six minutes and not even get muddy? Well unless you're some kind of superhero your best bet is to just watch our course flyover. Janathon 2016 Day 31 – Rice Crispy Cake. Asymp; Leave a comment. Today’s cake came courtesy of my niece’s birthday party. It was made by bonding rice crispies together with melted marshmallow, with nuts, coconut, and fruit embedded within. A master stroke, and well done to Rachel who created it. Exercise today was a 5.2 mile run, and very decent it was too. Given that it took place after 10pm, not only was it obviously dark, but the roads were empty not a single vehicle passed me during the entire route.
