Grampy Bustard: A week in Zante (part one)
http://grampybustard.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-week-in-zante-part-one.html
The musings of a southern naturalist up north. Welcome to my world. . Saturday, 25 July 2015. A week in Zante (part one). A very pleasant green island, not too many tourists and those that were there were mainly from other European countries like Poland, Sweden, France and Germany with not too many Brits. The shops were full and had no problems at all; perhaps heeding the tourist advice to take plenty of cash and not to embarrass anyone by offering credit cards did the trick. Minsmere Crimson Underwing C...

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Sunday, 31 May 2015. Http:/ petermooreblog.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/also-at-bempton.html. Saturday, 30 May 2015. For some reason I can't think about Monty's Harrier without being reminded of a famously sweary line from Withnail and I. This doesn't happen very often, as they have become a very rare breeding bird in Britain, having started off being not very plentiful in the first place. After an early start from Dorset. Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Saturday, 20 June 2015. Cretzschmar's Bunting, Bardsey Island - a monster bird and my 200th species photographed in Britain in 2015. The White eye-ring, dark rusty orange underparts and throat patch, and lead grey head and upper breast distinguish Cretzschmar's from the closely related Ortolan. The Ctretzschmar's fed on seeds among the concrete pads around the lighthouse. A more substantial bird that the local Linnets as this picture shows. Silence. It was broken by Andy ...

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog: That's more like it
http://petermooreblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/thats-more-like-it.html
Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Thursday, 18 June 2015. That's more like it. Even when I see a new bird these days I get quite frustrated if I don't get a half-decent photograph of it. Half-decent is about as much as could be expected of the Pagham Harbour Hudsonian Whimbrel. Hudsonian Whimbrel, Pagham Harbour. Preening to reveal the dark rump. Catching the evening light nicely here. Hudsonian Whimbrel (right) with Eurasian Whimbrel (left). It took over an hour before I got the opportunity for a flight shot.

Peter Moore's Wildlife Blog. Thursday, 23 July 2015. 65279;If you're thinking 'it's been so long since he posted anything that he must be working like a dog between jet-setting off to glamorous holiday locations', well, you'd be half right. The first half, specifically. The photo year list, around which this blog has been themed in 2015, ground to a shuddering halt on 202 following a Father's Day Terek Sandpiper. Dipper on the River Lyn. One of many young Grey Wagtails on the same. My book says Pygmy Shr...
