something, by t: Book Club

http://somethingbyt.blogspot.com/2012/09/book-club.html

Sunday, September 30, 2012. When Joanna asked me to design her book cover I was thrilled! She wanted something feminine, modern and sophisticated to enclose her writing. We went through a number of drafts to get this perfect, final cover. This is the first cover I've ever done, and I can hardly wait to hold the final product in my hands! The design sequence - 1st draft on the left, 2nd draft in the middle, and final design on the right. Let your conscience be your guide.

Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Posts from the Road. Some favorite postcards I picked up on my trip! This card is three dimensional! Ok, we loved North Dakota. And the zig-zag edges. Thursday, November 17, 2011. Road Trip Diaries; Day 1. And that is how the story begins. We practically flew through Wisconsin and Lauren drove all the way to Saint Cloud, Minnesota where she had arranged for us to stay with her friend Joe. By the time we got there we were both beat! Road Trip Diaries; Day 2. As we are getting...

Monday, July 11, 2011. Where did June go? How the bleep is it already July? Summers used to be long and lazy, and full of adventures. This summer is busy, a bit hectic, but still full of adventures. I'm not saying I would trade a minute of it, but sheesh! Even though my pale Irish skin doesn't show signs of summer, my bank account sure does! Also, Nikki the Nikon needs to make an appearance because I have practically zero summer photos! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Where did June go?

Monday, January 30, 2012. Great Balls of Fire! This weekend I was strolling down Jackson Blvd. when I unexpectedly came upon a window display that I helped create! It was quite exciting to see in real life! This was one of my freelance projects for DRT. To basically take the flame and popcorn bucket images and make them ready for the printer. :) Now I'm sort of interested to try this spicy popcorn. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Blues, Brews and BBQ. Monday, January 23, 2012. Back in October. Apparently ...

My life as a working creative. My First Processed Space Image. ShapeOko 2 Building Adventures So Far →. August 4, 2013. For the past few months, my CNC Build Club project has been building a ShapeOko CNC mill. From a kit Jeff donated to PS:One to replace the machine hacked into a pick-and-place. The ShapeOko belongs to PS:One and will (hopefully) be a permanent part of the space. After several attempts at finding the right pen or marker, and figuring out how to tape it securely, this was the result:.

My life as a working creative. ShapeOko 2 Building Adventures So Far. September 14, 2014. Donated a ShapeOko 2 CNC Router “The Works” kit. During the first session, we assembled wheels and bearings, and attached them to plates for the x, y,and z axes. We started the next session with parts that looked like this:. Describe the z-axis assembly as the most intricate, and they’re not kidding. It took a lot of fiddly work and some mistakes to get here:. Thank you to everyone who helped so far! Graphic designe...

My life as a working creative. Newer posts →. New Work, Creative Process, and Veggies. October 10, 2011. I just finished up another project for QCDC. It was a set of collateral for the Bronzeville Harvest Fest, which is connected with the Bronzeville Community Market, which was my first brief for them. This time, they sent me an idea for a poster, and I iterated from that, and then took it further. I sent in three comps, and the “further” idea ended up being chosen. Here it is:. Continue reading →. What’s wrong with potatoes? July 5, 2014. When I first started the GAPS diet I thought potatoes were the perfect carb loophole by the very fact that they aren’t a grain. But my doctor was quick to point out that these tasty morsels should neither form part of my current regime, nor should they really be more than the occasional treat on a maintenance diet (as opposed to the gut healing one I’m currently on). Lunes, 18 de abril de 2011. 1 I find Itze's blog. 2 I agree with Nestor's blog. In some ways. People with disabilities should be given equality, but lets face it some of the disabled people cant work normally or cant take care of themselves. What really should be done is determining whether a disabled person has the ability to work under certain normality and finding an adequate job for them. Had a certain truth that Native Americans should be living normlly with no discrimination. In addition I thin...

Crochet and other crafts. Plush and Stuffed Toys. December 19, 2016. December 13, 2016. On December 10, Villages of Kapolei Association held it’s first Winter Fair! I had fun and my booth had a great response from fair-goers! This being my first booth, everything was still in testing mode. Will this table layout work? What will be the most popular items? No amount of research can equal what lessons experience can give you. I personally ended up overpacking. Three car loads’ worth! I will definitely aim t...

Something by Virtue of Nothing

Though not " woo woo. A word I learned this week). I wonder about this difference sometimes, and think it lies in the presence of self-doubt, but also another mechanism lined with questioning: an attempted exploration that is not smoothly paved. Exemplary of this approach, aside from Cicero and Seneca, is John Ruskin: he was classically inclined but also engaged with modernity. My favourite example of this includes where he compared the edifices built for the idol. What if the use. Of the word essence is...
