Syzygy of Worlds: April 2011
http://syzygyofworlds.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2011. Y garden has been blooming away steadily. We've gotten a lot of rain this spring, so everything is quite verdant. One of these days I need to fertilize the flowerbed, but I have to get some more weeds pulled, first. Here are a few pictures of what's been blooming, these past few weeks. Now for my actual flowerbed. A few years back, I was given some seeds for a columbine, and couldn't remember what I did with them. Apparently I planted them at some point, because it bloom...This ...
Syzygy of Worlds: May 2011
http://syzygyofworlds.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 23, 2011. Ow that school's out, I've been gardening early in the morning before the heat is too great for me ( 79°F). In a few weeks, that time will probably change. I love being up early, as long as I don't have to talk. This is a rambler rose that went wild. It would be covered in little clumps of these peppery-smelling blossoms, but the deer keep chewing most of them off. I always wondered how columbines got their names; I couldn't see anything birdlike about them. After some research,...
Syzygy of Worlds: September 2011

Saturday, September 10, 2011. I grew this 'Mr. Majestic' marigold from seed. It's the sole plant that survived; squirrels dug up the other seeds and ate them. I love the striped petals. At least deer don't eat marigolds- yet. The deer didn't eat my monarda, either. This specimen came from a plant sale at a local botanical gardens a few summers ago. I forgot to stake it, so it flopped everywhere. I love the way it looks like fireworks. Hummingbirds like these, but I didn't see any this year. I wanted to t...
Syzygy of Worlds: March 2011
http://syzygyofworlds.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2011. Hen I was applying for colleges, I had to write an essay about a fictional character who greatly influenced my life. I ended up submitting a very tame essay about Combeferre from. A young revolutionary who fights for what he believes in, but whose real tendencies are scholarly, preferring "illumination rather than conflagration.". That's not who I wanted to write about. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Out of reach of the world. The. Captain Nemo influenced me, not because he was s...
Syzygy of Worlds: March 2012

Sunday, March 18, 2012. Springtime Garden and Woods. Pring came early this year. The daffodils were finished by the beginning of February. I have grand plans for my garden, as usual. Most of my plants didn't go dormant over the winter, because the weather never cooled down significantly. Some of the daisies persisted in blooming well into December. I like this kind especially because they remind me of growing crocuses when I was little, and of a favorite professor who always wore thinly striped shirts.

Syzygy of Worlds: November 2010

Friday, November 5, 2010. Seven Great Future Movies. Uring a conversation with a friend earlier this week, I mentioned two or three books that I think would naturally make wonderful movies, and later called to mind a few more. Each would present unique challenges to the filmmakers with regard to things like historical accuracy, special effects, and quality appropriate actors (as in, people with real acting ability), in order to remain faithful to the books. So, in no particular order:. 1 Rifles for Watie.
Syzygy of Worlds: The Editing Process: Viewing One's Work Objectively

Wednesday, May 18, 2011. The Editing Process: Viewing One's Work Objectively. Nce upon a time, I thought of starting a blog so that I could write about writing. Then I decided to write about other things, too. Here are some recent thoughts I've been mulling over, concerning the editing process. This is by no means a comprehensive guide to this issue; I'm sure I've left out some aspects of it. Now, it is natural for the writer to still feel attached to his book, during the editing process. There's not...
Syzygy of Worlds: January 2011

Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Movie Review: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Ecently, I went out to see. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I brought my trusty writing notebook with me, and made a tally mark in one of two columns whenever I especially liked or disliked something. Here are my somewhat-disjointed thoughts. Warning: some spoilers ahead, though not the ending nor too many major plot points. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Some people might think so. Are these details indispensible? Interesti...
Syzygy of Worlds: Hungarian Cold Cherry Soup
http://syzygyofworlds.blogspot.com/2011/06/hungarian-cold-cherry-soup.html
Saturday, June 18, 2011. Hungarian Cold Cherry Soup. Ere is one of my favorite things to eat. It's a cold Hungarian summer soup, and is not difficult to make. The hardest part is finding cherries. The recipe calls for two pounds of cherries. It can be just a little more or a little less; generally one bag from the grocery store is enough for this. It's such a lovely mauve color. Also, this picture doesn't fully capture how pretty it actually looks. In Hungarian, this soup can be called cseresznyeleves (c...

Welcome to Rena's Little Space. Enjoy! Monday, October 20, 2008. Taking a break from my assignment. which is due today. hehehe. Joel's growing every single day, in looks (they change everyday! Look at my facebook pictures) and in length! He can't fit in a certain "position" in daddy's arms anymore) and PRAISE GOD! He's falling into a routine of a 3-hour wake up, feed, poo/urine, diaper change and sleep pattern. exceptions of course for a certain few sleepless nights for mummy. The Day of the LORD. Youth ...

MorningSong
A compilation of thoughts and questions I have as I walk out this walk of faith. Saturday, January 9, 2010. I think I'm a partially lit tree! Can you see the bright light I see - mid-bottom, left? Whatever IT is - it comes out. Not in a way that I take it out on others, but in a way where I want to keep that to myself but can't bare hiding. No apologies because, if I am out of line or if I do need correcting, God is definitely gonna show me! May I never know when and where my light shines for Him! May I ...
