How you can help hedgehogs:. If you find a badly injured hedgehog please take it to a vet. If you find a hedgehog out in the day time it will need to be rescued. Keep it warm until help can be found. Make sure that hedgehogs can access your garden by creating gaps in the hedge or fence 16cm x 16 cm (7 x 7 approx). Provide cat or dog food each evening. Provide fresh clean water especially in dry weather. Talk to your neighbours about helping hedgehogs in your street. Make your pond safe. Make a log pile.
