Sparkling Squirrel Year

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. 4 and 6: Growing and Glowing. Aster and Dianthus turned 4 and 6 recently. They were lucky enough to celebrate with both sets of grandparents. Dianthus helped bake Aster's chocolate strawberry cake in Colorado, Aster helped with Dianthus's baked Alaska and then on Dianthus's birthday we drove to Kansas and ate more cake. Here's some of the glowing and its aftermath. Temperamentally, four is the new three, by the way. That's a big baked Alaska. Links to this post. Resolution #13):...

Sparkling Squirrel Year: August 2015

http://sparklingsquirrel.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Pasque Flower, Pulsatilla, Rocky Mountain National Park. West Side, June 1. Not all of my hairy plant photography was focused on leaves this summer. I also photographed some pubescent* flowers- both hairy and on the verge of sexual maturity. Anemone, Banff or Jasper, June. Calochortus (Mariposa or Sego Lily),. Rocky Mountain National Park Fall River Valley, July. Links to this post. Monday, August 24, 2015. How would you describe these? Links to this post. Links to this post.

Sparkling Squirrel Year: June 2015

http://sparklingsquirrel.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Glowing in Canada from all over the world. I couldn't access my blog while we were on the road,* so I haven't had the chance to tell you just how much this World Cup means to me, and feel I won't possibly do the subject justice in the short time between now (and afternoon crafts at the library) and the big USA - Germany semi-final this evening, but I must try. I wrote last year about the world part of the world cup being important to my mother and me. But why are you crying? I was...

http://sparklingsquirrel.blogspot.com/2015/07/3652-days-down-bring-on-next-3653.html

Thursday, July 9, 2015. 3,652 Days Down: Bring on the Next 3,653*. As of today, The Mister and I have been married for ten years. To my knowledge, there are no household cleaning appliances coming my way, and he doesn't yet know about all of the fantastic canned seafood coming his way once we reach Colorado (Ten, is, after all, the "tin anniversary" and Zingerman's was sadly sold out of the tins of tinned fish. I planned to buy him). I'm also not going to sentimentally recall our wedding (although it was.

Sparkling Squirrel Year: Glowing Update

http://sparklingsquirrel.blogspot.com/2015/08/glowing-update.html

Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Glowing year hasn't quite sparked friends to action the way that other themes have. Perhaps that is the nature of "glow". I do, however, have some glowing things to report at this midpoint. The luminous jellyfish at the Vancouver Aquarium didn't transfix Dianthus quite the way the jellyfish at the National Aquarium in Baltimore had five years prior, but they were still pretty cool. Saturn looked just like this, (but smaller and with five moons). Glow myself into shape. Once in ...

On the road to somewhere: Snowman Diversity

http://plantecologist.blogspot.com/2007/02/snowman-diversity.html

On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Tuesday, February 6, 2007. I was able to capture several snowpersons. Before they melted, and I would like to present them here. There were well dressed snow people. This little guy was one of my favorites. He was about 1 foot tall. Several, pure white varieties. There was a snow dog. This guy - love his hat and the pose of his arms. A snow person greats the day with enthusiasm.

On the road to somewhere. In which a plant ecologist explores botany, fiber arts, and other interesting roadside attractions. Friday, November 20, 2009. Long Time No See. Been looking back over my blog, and I love being reminded of things I had forgotten about. For example, this post on snowman diversity. As such, I have decided I need to put time back into my blog, for myself, though I hope my friends and family will return to reading this blog and hopefully enjoy it. Wander through the Williams World: Matt's Visit

http://wanderwilliamsworld.blogspot.com/2015/07/matts-visit.html

Wander through the Williams World. Occassional updates about our adventures! Saturday, July 11, 2015. The one and only Waunakee in the world made the cut for a visit by Matt as he bikes across America! We were so thrilled to host him and hear tales of his journey. When we picnicked at the Waunakee Tuesday concert, Matt was a bit of a celebrity, with several of our neighbors coming over to ask questions, seek tips and gawk in amazement at 3500 miles pedaled. And even mowed two lawns! The Move is Official.

Wander through the Williams World: April 2015

http://wanderwilliamsworld.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wander through the Williams World. Occassional updates about our adventures! Sunday, April 26, 2015. My brother's epic adventure begins! Yesterday morning, my brother embarked on a cross-country journey. It's an ambitious endeavor! One that certainly dwarfs the modest Bike the Barns conducted on a single fall day. We're excited for Matt's adventure and wish him all the best. To travel by bicycle is to be overwhelmed by the next mile. And to be underwhelmed by the vast distances that lie ahead. It's still...

Card crafting for the joy of it! Wednesday, August 13, 2014. I'm on a roll! Today I have a card for Margaret. It's a long, overdue thank you card for being a marvelous friend and a wonderful hostess. It took me awhile to make my way back into my art room. I have now made several cards, so hopefully, with the physical therapy I am now receiving, I will feel like playing with paper more frequently! I am entering the following challenges:. Lady Bugs Craft Ink. Thanks for stopping by! Tuesday, August 12, 2014.
