A mother's attempt to capture the essence of her daughters, her life, and her world. Friday, May 26, 2006. One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed. Last night, my dear friend Sherry, babysat the girls so that Dave and I could have a grown up dinner alone. Bekah cried, Lexie cried and it wouldn’t surprise me if Sherry cried. I think falling off the bed is the most fun Bekah has had in a long time. It wouldn’t surprise me if she fell off the bed tonight. Posted by The New MBA @ 6:28 AM 1 comments. So, Tuesday...

Poem Road: a spark
http://poemroad.blogspot.com/2006/06/spark.html
Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Thank you for your comments and emails expressing an interesting in participating in the Poem Road project. I'm happy that you're excited about participating. And a big thank you to Liz. For their generous support of this idea. I had chosen June 30th as a tentative deadline for submitting poem photos for inclusion in a video collage that I offered to create. So I realize this post might seem a day early. Here are some thoughts you've shared so far:. Perhaps the poem road could b...

the wings of the morning: April 2006
http://sixfootone.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
The wings of the morning. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? Happy birthday to me. Thursday, April 27, 2006. It's really striking how much difference fifteen minutes a day. Which helped to inspire me in the first place, is the best example of the wide applicability of daily practice across mediums, I think.). I used this week's S.S. prompt to take advantage of Kat's Contagious Creativity. Suggestion (from last week) to give myself permission to create crap....

defective yeti: I'm A-Start Some Drama
http://www.defectiveyeti.com/archives/001534.html
I'm A-Start Some Drama. I walked into the kitchen this morning to find The Queen groggily gathering coffee-making accoutrements. Wha'cha gonna do wit all dat junk? I asked her. "All dat junk inside yo trunk? She scowled at me as a reminder of the household's "no conversation before caffeine" rule, but then asked, "What are you saying? She looked confused. "I'm going to get you drunk? Right," I confirmed. ". Drunk You know, off your hump.". The Queen stared at me blearily. Okay," she said, resigned. I'm b...

Poem Road: How it began...
http://poemroad.blogspot.com/2006/06/how-it-began.html
Tuesday, June 20, 2006. On Thursday, June 15th, I felt like doing something a bit different for Poetry Thursday. I posted a video that I found at YouTube. It was a video of a 'poem road' in Taiwan, and I found it to be quite inspirational. Here's my original post. Where you can watch the Taiwan video. How would we go about doing that? Who asked if I'd be open to having this idea expand even further. Here's her comment in its entirety:. Can this keep going? Could this be a movement? So I did the next logi...

Writing Blind: May 2006
http://writing-blind.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
All this, and the world. Wednesday, May 31, 2006. The secret to writing fiction. You only learn to be a better writer by writing. I don't know much about creative writing programs. But they're not telling the truth if they don't teach, one, that writing is hard work and, two, that you have to give up a great deal of life, your personal life, to be a writer.". Every so often (okay, just about every day) I have this little crisis of faith with regards to writing. I ask myself: are you happy doing this?

Writing Blind: What?!?!?!
http://writing-blind.blogspot.com/2006/10/what.html
All this, and the world. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. I go away for one day and Lynn. Her blog. Sweet Jesus, what is the world coming to? Posted by writingblind at 11:04 PM. Made me very sad! It's like a rip in the space-time continuum. Something's just not right in the world. *sigh*. It's a worry . But she hasn't gone completely silent - she's still commenting I see. I wish her all the best and hope she takes care - eh January. Do we really need to go over this again? Because some days I feel like this.

Mark's Musings: November 2005
http://lustila.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Disappointing my readers, one day at a time. Friday, November 25, 2005. I'm really not a stalker, I swear. Been a pretty busy few days in the semi-white North. The reason I haven't been posting as much lately is because I've been working as much as humanly possible in order to make up for the holiday, make a little extra cash for Christmas, and my upcoming snowmobile trip. Is Today is Christina Applegate's birthday. She's 34 and still married. Dammit. Posted by Mark @ 8:31 PM. Friday, November 18, 2005.

Blue Dog: On Being Blocked:
http://bluedogbarking.blogspot.com/2006/03/on-being-blocked.html
Sunday, March 05, 2006. Last night I went to bed early after not being able to write. Of late, I have been newly inspired to take back my writing life after watching some incredibly thought provoking movies- Capote. I went to bed early because after sitting down to write, nothing came. Like every day- nothing came. He doesn't. Except that there are many, many more like him to be encountered in my future. I have not been writing and, to be honest, it is eating a hole inside of me. I want myself back.
