What does this mean? Quite frankly, that conflict almost has to be an inherent part of any collaborative effort. Comfort with a “collaborative” process just might be a signal that what we’re doing is “getting together” in a way that is NOT collaborative at all. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post.

Can’t we encourage metadiscursivity without sitting at a keyboard? Can’t we compose using visuals, sound, text, and texture, and not blog about it? To paraphrase a recent contributor to.

McKee’s observation that being out of one thing implies being in something else dovetails well with the observations in the “Bi, Butch, and Bar Dyke” piece in TC: accepting one identity seems to be, in part, about rejecting another identity. Here is my video interview. Here are the questions I asked:. What are the aims of your writing course? What is the biggest surprise about teaching writing? What do you wish you had been taught in grad school (but weren’t)? 6 Responses to “Video Interview”. December 3, 2008 at 2:25 am. Hey, great video! I liked Andy’s comment about sentences; it might be interesting to have a class that does nothing but examine different authors’ styles of writing. December 4, 2008 at 2:17 am. The Dangerous Blog for Grad Students. Writing with Video: What Happens When Composition Comes Off the Page Response November 4, 2008. 8212; deduvick @ 3:52 pm. This sounds like a fabulous class! I understand that there are a lot of issues to be faced with a project like this, such as funding for technology and teacher training, but I feel that this would be an excellent addition to any university and a boon to students to better enable them to communicate in a very current multimodal way.

The Dangerous Blog for Grad Students. Portfolio Standards for English 101 Response November 11, 2008. 8212; deduvick @ 5:13 am. Douglas D. Hesse. It was very interesting to be reading about this in our book, since this is exactly the model that we are working from in our own English 101 and 101.10 classes that we teach. I must say, however, it is much easier to read in our table-like boxes on the rubric in our books than in this linear format! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Get a fr...
