I usually get about 9 total, 2 for me, and 7 for the squirrels and birds. Oh well. But for some reason, our Turkey Fig tree (in a pot, btw), put out about 20 beautiful figs, ALL FOR ME! I made a few salads as you know; ate some with cheese; but saved a few for a galette, and mixed in some Black Mission figs from the farmers market, which should be available to you now.

My fig tree is doing very well this summer, and I am hoping to beat out the squirrels and birds! This is my new favorite appetizer of the summer (I always have one! Monday, June 22, 2015. Potato and Green Bean Salad w/ Dill Pesto. I have made pesto with every herb now, except dill.not sure why, but it was time I tried it out. I have an abundance of dill in my herb garden right now, and truth be told, I liked this as much as basil pesto, if not better. This was GREAT w/ potatoes and green beans, and the next day, I mixed some in with plain yogurt to make an amazing dip. I have been adding in a squeeze of fresh lemon juice lately to all my pestos. 1 tbsp lemon juice.

It is a wonderful dressing for cold poached chicken or fish, and was extra good on these roasted potatoes and broccoli. I found this recipe in Heidi Swanson's new book Super Natural Every Day. Not that Heidi needs any more plugs for her website or her books. I like Heidi's site. 1 lb broccoli, cut up into florets.
