Ironman Athlete Triathlon Coach Mom. Monday, July 20, 2015. Post Ranch Inn to Marriott Wardman Park. reality set's in. Post Vineman John and I spent 2 glorious nights at Post Ranch. Inn in Big Sur. All I can say is it was stunningly beautiful, relaxing and amazing. We rolled in around 6pm and immediately were offered wine or champagne and I said yes. Attendant says to both, yes. Another long day in the car AND post race, yes. Amazing inside and out. My kind of tree house. Our Tuesday was so productive.

Julie Dunkle Ironman: April 2015
http://jdunkle.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Ironman Athlete Triathlon Coach Mom. Saturday, April 18, 2015. EAS Protein Powder and Electrolytes. Last week I received an invite to "test" a new product- Go Me! I love this kind of thing. the marketing guy was great, "check it out and blog about it if you love it or even if you just like it" If you don't you don't have to "fake" it. Fair enough. EAS is not a sponsor of mine (disclaimer) and I don't make any $ ( that I am aware of LOL) from this. 1- square container- okay indifferent about that. If you ...

Julie Dunkle Ironman: San Diego County Fair 5k
http://jdunkle.blogspot.com/2015/06/san-diego-county-fair-5k.html
Ironman Athlete Triathlon Coach Mom. Saturday, June 20, 2015. San Diego County Fair 5k. I despise the Fair. in fact I have been once. It goes in the same category as Disneyland etc. but this is not about that- is about the fact I went to the Fair this AM ( to run a 5K). Yes so the good news on the. Injury front is I have zero pain! Zero so the green light to ramp back up. This was my first week of running with some efforts. Garmin is on, pace is slow, but that is okay. Oh boy. yes. And I am really pissed.

Julie Dunkle Ironman: February 2015
http://jdunkle.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Ironman Athlete Triathlon Coach Mom. Friday, February 27, 2015. It makes you faster! I am a swimmer, I coach swimming, I have 1000 workouts, I know how to use a pace clock and push myself but I don't believe anyone can work as hard alone as they would in a (good) masters program. A bad masters program does not make sense - you are better doing solid swims on your own or better yet with a buddy. What makes a good program? Do you need to swim masters year round? It's intimidating- again if you find a good ...

Work Hard...Play Hard: New Year, New Me
http://racingforareason.blogspot.com/2012/02/new-year-new-me.html
Work Hard.Play Hard. Monday, February 27, 2012. New Year, New Me. Whoa, so I started this post back in January (I guess I've been a bit side-tracked the past two months). Anyhoo, today while procrastinating from studying for my Series 7(stock broker exam), I decided to revisit it (so I apologize if it's a bit New Years-ish (I think I made up that word). What will 2012 bring? First, the exciting news: I was selected for the Wattie Ink Elite Team. Much more to come on this as the season progresses. I'm a s...

Work Hard...Play Hard: August 2010
http://racingforareason.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Work Hard.Play Hard. Friday, August 6, 2010. As a triathlete, I spend a lot of time riding and running down roads. Usually, the road just represents a means for getting me from point a to b. However, as I was downloading pictures from our camera, I noticed that I had numerous photos of roads. They weren’t taken with any real purpose and none of them are particularly breathtaking. However, to me they are all meaningful. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). New Orleans, LA. View my complete profile. Diary of an ama...

Work Hard...Play Hard: September 2009
http://racingforareason.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Work Hard.Play Hard. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Warning 1: this post is long and boring and all about what’s going on with my hip. Warning 2: I’m beyond frustrated about my hip—the constant pain, the hoops I have to jump through to get this fixed and the time it’s taking. Therefore, my attitude is a bit negative. So, for anyone that decided to keep reading, let me go back a bit in time. FAI is a condition of too much friction in the hip joint. Basically, the ball (femoral head) and socket (acetabul...

Work Hard.Play Hard. Saturday, September 18, 2010. Breaking Out Of The Comfort Zone. The title says it all. I've stepped out of my comfort zone both on the job and training/racing front. I highly recommend it. After 7 years, I left my public relations/marketing job to work as a research editor for an investment bank. I'm a bit overwhelmed and there is a learning curve, but I'm thrilled to have this job. For the first time in years, I actually enjoy getting up each day for work. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
