Foundry Lane | Staffordshire Finescale

https://staffordshirefinescale.wordpress.com/foundry-lane

This was my first project since returning to the hobby and my first experience of modelling in EM gauge. For these reasons the objective was to produce a small, simple layout on which I could practice the necessary skills. The track-plan is based upon the Timesaver shunting puzzle, more commonly associated with US shelf-switcher layouts. Motive power for the layout consists of modified ready-to-run locomotives by Bachmann, Heljan and Hornby. Appropriately for the era and area modelled, BR Derby-Sulze...

By SFG and friends. In 2012 the group won the opportunity to build a layout as a project for RMweb. The research and construction of the layout was covered both on the forum and in British Railway Modelling magazine. As a group we settled on modelling a fictitious line in the Black Country set (initially) in the 1970s. Further details can be found here. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Half an hour at Foundry Lane | Staffordshire Finescale

https://staffordshirefinescale.wordpress.com/2012/07/20/half-an-hour-at-foundry-lane

Half an hour at Foundry Lane. Half an hour at Foundry Lane. July 20, 2012. July 21, 2012. A few photos of 20073 shunting the sidings at Foundry Lane, here we see it arriving with a brake van, there being no inbound traffic on this afternoon’s trip working. After dropping the brake van in the sidings, the loco headed off to the steel terminal, propelling a bogie bolster which had arrived on the morning trip and returning with some empty wagons which had been unloaded during the morning. Wolverhampton Low Level | Staffordshire Finescale

https://staffordshirefinescale.wordpress.com/wolverhampton-low-level

I’ve been fascinated by this station for as long as I can remember. Maybe it was my Dad’s tales of bunking off school to go train spotting there or maybe the fact that from High Level (which was by then just “Wolverhampton”) the Low Level station looked a bit like a model. By the time I became aware of the place it was in it’s last days as a parcels depot. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. New Haden Colliery | Staffordshire Finescale

https://staffordshirefinescale.wordpress.com/new-haden-colliery

New Haden Colliery was built by several members of our group whilst they were members of Stafford Railway Circle. And is now in the ownership of Geoff Cook. The model depicts a North Staffordshire colliery, including its internal railway, exchange sidings and a stretch of the Creswell to Cheadle branchline. The layout was featured in Issue 2 of the RMweb. 8220;Modelling Inspiration” e-mag, a copy of the article can be found here. While the full e-mag is here. 4 thoughts on “ New Haden Colliery. Foundry Lane (EM) | Foundry Lane

https://foundrylane.wordpress.com/foundry-lane

My other model railway projects. Foundry Lane – construction and early exhibitions. Wolverhampton Low Level (P4). Foundry Lane is a small “shunting plank” layout which I began to construct way back in 2006. It was (and still is) my first attempt at building my own layout and was built as an experiment to see how I got on with EM gauge standards. A blue-brick retaining wall forms the main scenic feature of the layout, running along almost its entire length. This makes use of Wills and Slaters material...

Review of the year 2014 | Foundry Lane

My other model railway projects. Foundry Lane – construction and early exhibitions. Wolverhampton Low Level (P4). Review of the year 2014. December 21, 2014. I must admit, I’ve not been using this blog as much as I thought (and hoped) that I would, largely due to a lack of spare time. However, I thought a little retrospective of my modelling in 2014 as the year draws to a close. Firstly then, Foundry Lane. The track did eventually get done (although there are still some detail parts required around the t...

My other model railway projects. Foundry Lane – construction and early exhibitions. Wolverhampton Low Level (P4). The end of Foundry Lane. March 30, 2014. Anyway, that’s it for Foundry Lane. The layout isn’t being scrapped, it will continue to serve as a test track (and shelf) for as long as I still have EM gauge stock under construction. Here are a few photos of the layout on its last day out. This entry was posted in Foundry Lane. Fryers Lane – track laying at last! Review of the year 2014 →.

My other model railway projects. Foundry Lane – construction and early exhibitions. Wolverhampton Low Level (P4). Wolverhampton Low Level (P4). Since then I have been extremly fortunate to have been given copies of some detailed drawings and plans of the station, which has enabled me to refine the layout plan further. My original intention as to use EM gauge (as I had previously for Foundry Lane. But I’ve recently decided to adopt P4 standards for this project. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are comment...
