SEPTEMBER 2016 - NCN 55 Stafford to Newport Greenway ride. Brian, Denis and Bob decided to have a ride along the Stafford to Newport Greenway i.e. NCN 55 today and meet up with Paul from the Stafford Rangers group who looks after it. We met Paul in Gnosall. Paul cycled with us all the way to Newport where we had a nice cafe stop. Paul was very informative about the route and very interested in our 'Back the Track' campaign too. DECEMBER 2014 - Christmas Meal. This year we decided to go to the Bull and Spectacles near Rugeley and a good idea it was too. So, thanks for organising it Jean! OCTOBER 2015 - Care with care signs in Beacon Park:. After a lot more work behind the scenes by Pete, a meeting was arranged with Lichfield's Historic Parks manager and one of the park's rangers today. At the meeting were rangers Pete, Jean and Mick. In April 2013, Bob from the Lichfield Rangers thought it would be a good idea for neighbouring ranger groups to meet up. After meeting up with the Stafford group everyone felt it was a really worthwhile exercise and we should try to develop it. So, Bob decided to create this blog to keep a record of everything. Pelsall, it's a lovely village with a lot of history as can be seen by the. Entry and a few photos below. In the past it looked like this. What was Pelsall station, is now part of Sustrans NCN 5 and Greener Greenways project. DECEMBER 2016 - Vegetation clearance - Walsall to Pelsall section:. It all seems to be happening this month and in a positive way for a change. David, Sustrans new ecologist, visited the volunteers in October and gave some good advice on how to manage the Greenway i.e. the Walsall to Pelsall section. David could see that the volunteers do what they can and are doing a good job but even with the the support of the CP team, they needed help. Group and Sustrans new management team to discuss the situation.
