Stephanie Clayton : Art Journal. The blog formerly known as "An Artist in Paradise". The shape of things. NEW OIL PAINTINGS IN PROGRESS. Where have I been? Oh, here, there and yonder. A lot has transpired this year. The biggest news is that in Spring, my family and I relocated from south Texas to the terrific city of Austin. I couldn't be more pleased with our fresh surroundings. A dream come true. Onto the paintings pictured above: Why have they been removed from their wood stretchers? KATE BECK : ART N...

Stephanie Clayton : Art Journal. The blog formerly known as "An Artist in Paradise". Materiality. and staples. This one's nearly finished, exposed staples and all. As I've been saying on Twitter. My latest paintings are very process-oriented (more than their precursors) as I explore new realms of painting's materiality. Looking good, Stephanie! Ill be checking for further updates on your explorations. November 12, 2013 at 7:03 PM. Glad you think so! November 12, 2013 at 8:56 PM. View my complete profile.

Snailcat: February 2012

Painting Journals with Japanese colored papers. Visit my gallery for viewing more works. Saturday, February 25, 2012. A Part of "Fantastic Plants 3". Links to this post. I am concerned with structure, texture, imperfection and, ultimately, the order of things seen and unseen. In making art, I shift among paint media to investigate the same themes. From these investigations, relationships are created among geometric configurations, color fields and layers. A complex interplay occurs between material, visual recall and contemplation.

Believing God for ALL His promises, nothing less. We seek God’s peace, but do we accept it as enough. August 13, 2015. So there’s this whole peace seeking thing that I do. I’m pretty good at it. I have some effective coping skills. Things like going to the gym, walking my dog, listening to music, reading my Bible, soaking myself in counseling research (weird that I like doing this – but whatever), and praying. All good things.
